GOD GIVES US Second Chances By Vernita Simmons
One beautiful aspect of life is that God always gives us more than a second chance. When we sin and fall short, He forgives us and gives us the opportunity to be redeemed. When we make a mistake God allows us to try again. However, contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely no hope for those who die without having accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. You see - to have hope means the expectation of something good will occur. Hope motivates you to keep moving forward. Hope encourages you to hold on despite your circumstances. Hope bring you into faith which keeps you steadfast and anchored. To have hope is good indeed provided, you’re hoping for that which adheres to the promises of God. To hope for anything other is senseless and meaningless. Beloved, it is not God’s desire that any should die but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9). But, that choice is entirely up to you. The enemy will have you believe that God would never send you to hell. And that’s exactly correct because thru the life we choose to live we sentence ourselves to either reign with Jesus eternally in heaven or to a devil’s hell. Thru the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross, our sins has been paid for once and for all. For indeed Christ died for sins once and for all, the Just and the Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God , having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit. (I Peter 3:18). And His death left no one out for Jesus Christ does not have favoritism. Therefore, your hope of being saved lies in the atoning death of Jesus while you have the capacity to choose this day who you will serve. After all, Jesus paid a debt we could not pay and we owe a debt we cannot pay. Now, to convince yourself that there is hope of being saved after death leads down the path to doubt, deception and wrong thinking. If you think wrong, you’ll believe just about anything. And when such deep seated beliefs consume your mind, it draws you further and further away from all that is honest, pure and just. Before you know it, you’re locked into a belief system which wraps you in false doctrines, while becoming increasing hostile towards Christianity. In essence, those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior are not living in the knowledge of the truth. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32; I Tim. 2:4). They do not accept the Lord’s teaching as genuine and true. Neither will they obey His infallible word. The enemy has blinded them by the usage of false teachings and soothing words which creates an illusion within their mind that after
