Salvation
Comes With
A Price
But it may not be what you
think!
By Margo McKenzie
People have been programmed
to believe that if
they do good deeds, they
will be rewarded. From where
does this idea originate? It starts
in the home. Well meaning parents
often give rewards to their
children when they do something
worthy of merit. A parent
will give a child an award for a
special achievement or an allowance
when children complete
their chores.
In sports, little league coaches
award children with certificates,
medals and trophies. Schools
awards students with stars and
other commendations in recognition
of special achievements.
Sometimes teachers print the
names of achieving students
on bulletin boards. As a reward
for good deeds, school administrators
invite students to pizza
parties, honor assemblies and
special trips.
“For the wages
of sin is death,
but the gift of
God is eternal
life though
Jesus our
Lord.” Romans
