his heart toward that person.
God is restoring that gift of supernatural
love. If I ask God for it he
will give it to me. As people start
seeing the love of God reflected
in people, they are going to turn
to Jesus. It will start another
great awakening. I’m seeing
it in corporate America and in
my travels. I’m seeing people
coming to know the Lord.
Why is rejection and offense
so prevalent among believers?
It’s a set-up from Satan. A lot of
people don’t realize that sin is
sin. They think that some sin is
acceptable. One sin they accept
is unrighteous anger. But, we
need to realize when the Bible
talks about not being a stumbling
block to others, it is talking about
anger. Don’t let your anger be a
stumbling block. This is why we
are told in James to be quick to
listen, slow to speak, and slow to
become angry. There are times
for righteous anger but they are
very rare. Too many times we go
from zero to 100 with our anger,
and it’s not justified.
Anger is a form of rejection. And
when we are emotional, we don’t
see all sides of the situation. We
think we are justified. We allow
it to fester. 90% of the time, our
anger is not justified and is just
coming out of human emotions.
How should believers respond
to rejection?
In practice, we have to take
every thought captive. We have
to slow down. Recognize you
are in a cycle of rejection. Don’t
jump to conclusions. Speak in
love. Repent. We have to repent
when we find ourselves rejecting
others. We are going to fall
short, but we have to be quick to
repent and quick to forgive. We
have to start a culture of forgiveness.
It’s the concept of religion vs.
relationship. Religion points
the finger. Relationship is real.
Religion puts emphasis on ceremony
but not day to day. Relationships
live out the day to day.
They aren’t perfect. Every day
we work at it. That’s how it has
to be as believers. We have to
put the emphasis on walking
with Him every day and being
grateful that He forgave me. As
you meditate on that, you will be
full of grace for other people and
have more patience. We need
to seek the attributes of love
– patience, kindness, not selfseeking,
forbearing. There’s too
much self seeking in the church.
It’s easy to do. We are lacking
kindness. When you dig deep
into what love really is, there are
a lot of characteristics we need
to work on.
How should Christians
respond when faced with the
extreme rejection of persecution
in today’s society?
We are starting to see persecution
in the U.S. Other nations are
more hostile. In the U.S., we are
seeing a social persecution. If
you’re against gay marriage, or
believe Jesus is God, you experience
it. Everybody is cool with
God, but the moment you say
Jesus is God, you’re not politically
correct anymore. We are
seeing it in the media first. When
we have been in other countries,
we have been coached. We
are told to make sure we don’t
say this or that, or mention hot
topics. Don’t focus on sin, but
solution, they tell us. It’s starting
to happen more and more here.
In this country, we have free
speech, but we have to speak
the truth in love. It’s a two-part
formula. You can’t hit someone
over the head with a Bible and
expect it to penetrate, but you
can’t love them and not speak the
truth either. There are too many
camps in the church that are
either hyper-grace or argumentative.
We have to be armed with
both, and if someone is stronger
in one or the other, encourage
each other and work together to
speak the truth in love.
Is there anything else you
want readers to know?
Just this – God is good and Jesus
is God. We have to get back to
the basics. Readers can contact
