Dr. ; reco is a principal materials scientist in the<br />

Energy Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory;<br />

Illinois. He currently leads pro;ects that focus on<br />

improving the reliability of wind turbine drivetrains<br />

through advanced tribological testing and materials.<br />

His other research areas include surface engineering;<br />

nano-colloidal lubricant additives and contact failure<br />

investigation. ; reco recently completed an assignment<br />

in the Wind and Water Power Technology Office at the<br />

- .S. Department of Energy;s headCuarters in Washington;<br />

D.C.; where he provided technical management<br />

support.<br />

Prior to ;oining Argonne in 2010; ; reco was a science<br />

and technology policy fellow at The National<br />

Academies of Sciences; Engineering and Medicine in<br />

Washington; D.C.; where he worked with the ; oard on Energy and Environmental<br />

Systems. His efforts included providing technical expertise on vehicle technology and<br />

drafting chapters that were included in the report titled Assessment of Technologies<br />

for Improving Light-Duty . ehicle ; uel Economy.<br />

; reco has authored more than a dozen ;ournal articles in the field of tribology and<br />

surface engineering. He has also disseminated his research findings through invited<br />

talks.<br />

An ASME member; ; reco serves on the Tribology Division;s Executive Committee<br />

as Education chair. He received a ; est Paper Award from the !9!!nal 90 &!3,9l91C in<br />

201; .<br />

; reco is also a member of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers<br />

;STLE;. He is currently an associate editor of the &!3,9l91C &!an!a-!39n!;ournal and<br />

serves on the Conference Planning Committee for the Tribology ; rontiers Conference.<br />

Previously he was a member of the 1 oung Tribologist Committee ;200; –11; and<br />

chaired several technical sessions.<br />

Among his honors; ; reco received STLE;s Outstanding Conference Poster Award<br />

;200; ; and a ; est Paper Award ;2011; from the Surface Engineering Committee; and<br />

a National Science ; oundation I; ERT ;Integrative ; raduate Education and Research<br />

; reco received his bachelor;s degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State<br />

- niversity; Ames; in 200; ; and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Northwestern<br />
