New horizontal flow wrapper
provides all-round efficiency

Systems, the UK and
Ireland’s exclusive

horizontal and
vertical form, fill and
seal equipment,
is launching Fuji’s latest
evolution in packaging
machinery at the show.
In operation, the
Alpha 8 horizontal flow
wrapper has been designed
to offer improvements over
previous models to deliver
increased productivity times
and reduce running costs.
“This machine has also
evolved to incorporate a
stronger, simpler and more
accessible end seal system,
which is quieter, more
reliable, with higher sealing
pressure,” explains Aaron
Bessell, Paramount Packaging
Systems’ sales and marketing
director.
Also, the Fuji vision system
is enhanced through the auto
teaching function, which
includes automatic detection
of correct print for product,
thus avoiding incorrect film.
This is complemented by
a new interface, with a
larger screen (now 15.6in),
which is customisable to
allow for immediate access
to main and most commonly
used functions.
Fuji has also added a 500mm
shorter film path and film
rollers made of stainless steel
for increased hygiene benefits.

packs at 400 per minute.”
Similar to the Alpha VII, the
Alpha 8
is designed
to improve
productivity across a
wide variety of industries
including meat, poultry
& fish, bakery, dairy, tea
& coffee, pharmaceutical
and household supplies.
At the PPMA Show,
demonstrations of the Alpha 8
and the new high speed model
will take place throughout the
three days.

High shear mixer specialist is launching a
first ever benchtop powder/liquid version
Silverson Machines is
best known for the design
and manufacture of high
shear mixers for the food,
pharmaceutical, cosmetics
and chemical industries.
At the PPMA Show, the
company will be launching
the Verso FMX5 which is
its first ever benchtop
powder/liquid mixer.
Dispersing powders into
liquids can pose just as big
a challenge in the laboratory
as it can on the production
floor which is why this unit
has been developed.
The new pilot scale Flashmix
can easily incorporate a
wide range of powders with
the same performance,
mixing characteristics and
repeatability that the larger
models provide.
“This also offers an easy
and accurate means of scaling
up in the future,” says Chris
Ryan of Silverson.
The company will also
be demonstrating its
established range of
production scale batch,
Ultramix and in-line
high shear mixers as
well as a full range
of laboratory and
pilot scale units.
Mixers are used
throughout the food,
pharmaceutical,
cosmetic, chemical
and petrochemical
industries for duties
including emulsifying,
homogenising, solubilising,
suspending, dispersing,
disintegrating solids and
accelerating reactions.
