PPMA Show Preview
Stand will
celebrate
new business
“To celebrate another fantastic
year of business for Springvale
Equipment we will return again to
this year’s PPMA Show with our
partners Mespack & Langen to
promote the very latest technology
these two companies can offer,”
says Karen Cobbett of Springvale.
Mespack offers form, fill and
seal equipment for sachets, stick
packs and pouches together with
pre-made pouch solutions.
The company is currently building
four lines for the UK market.
Cartons handled by Langen units
These UK orders in the last
12 months are for a diverse range
of products from whey proteins,
pet food, coffee, ketchup and soft
drinks through to dishwasher pods.
Mespack will be presenting
developments including in-line
laser cutting of shaped pouches.
The Dutch manufacturer
Langen has been providing
cartoning solutions for more
than 60 years, including its latest
benchmark in hygienic cartoning,
known as the Maestro.
This new continuous motion
system is designed to handle a
large range of product/carton
combinations with speed
capabilities of up to 500 cartons
per minute including larger
cartons up to 320mm x 370mm.
It can easily handle a wide
variety of applications – stick
packs, flow wraps, pouches – and
tailored solutions to suit products
and cartons that require careful
handling, collation and also
organising incoming product
from up-stream equipment.

Latest units for weighing
and detecting on display
Wipotec-OCS will
present new and
established systems
at the show: food inspection
machines (individual
products/bulk goods),
combined weighing/metal
detection units and systems
for serialisation tasks in the
pharmaceutical sector.
The first machine to be
demonstrated is the SC-E
x-ray scanner. This entry-level
system for professional foreign
object detection in foods of all
kinds, will be joined by the
SC-B system which provides
for fast and reliable bulk
material inspection.
Designed for protection
class IP65 with full stainless
steel construction, the system
features a balcony design and
also includes sloped surfaces
that enable thorough cleaning
that is quick and easy.
A second machine to be
exhibited is the HC-M-WD-MDi:
a combined checkweigher
and metal detection unit.
The company says this
machine sets new standards
in product inspection. It is

TQS-HC-A-TE, which is for
folding box serialisation.
It has an integrated
checkweigher and provides
tamper evidence functionality
on both sides. Countryspecific
labels or vignettes
requirements with its new
2BFC pump range that will
be launched at the show.
With extensive use of 316L
stainless steel and
a minimum number
of internal product
contact parts and
seals, the 2BFC
range with 1in,
1.5in or 2in drive
will dispense from
zero to either 20ml,
30ml or 40ml, with
accuracy normally
better than +/- half
are applied by means of
compact labelling units.
This machine allows
products to be discharged
according to diverse sorting
rules, and to determine the
weight – all during throughput
operations.
