1980: BYU trailed 45-25 with less than four minutes remaining, but Jim McMahon threw for a score, Scott Phillips<br />

ran in a touchdown after an onside kick, and a blocked punt led to McMahon’s “hail Mary” pass to Clay<br />

Brown on the game’s final play.<br />

1984: BYU claimed the Holiday Bowl’s first national championship game, with Robbie Bosco throwing a 13-yard<br />

touchdown pass to Kelly Smith with 1:23 left to give the Cougars a 24-17 win over Michigan.<br />
