Hospice lottery is on the lookout for
new members...
HOSPICE CHARITY
LOTTERY
St Nicholas Hospice Care, which provides services and
support for those across West Suffolk with long-term and
life-threatening illnesses, is hoping more people will help
support the charity by becoming a member of its lottery.
Could you give our local hospice a
helping hand by supporting their
charity lottery?
Alison Bacon-Snow, the hospice’s lottery
manager, said: “At the hospice we firmly
believe that everyone in our community
should have the very best experiences in
the final chapters of their lives.
“The lottery is a fun way of giving to
and supporting the hospice but it is also
possibly one of the most dependable &
consistent fundraising activities we have.
Every year our members help to raise more
than £380,000. We always look forward
to welcoming new people to our lottery.
We need people to spread the word, to friends and
family and also colleagues at work; not only about the
hospice’s lottery, but also about the care and services
we provide and not only for those coping with illness,
but also the support we can give those who are left
behind.”
The weekly draw, which celebrated its 20th birthday
in June, has raised around £7.4 million since it started
in 1998 and gives players the chance to win prizes
ranging from £10 to £1,000 every Friday. The second
prize is £250, but if this is not won, it rolls over to the
following weeks’ draw, increasing by £250 until it is
won or reaches £10,000 – at which point one player is
guaranteed to scoop the whole jackpot amount!
