Which toner should I use?
Applying Toner
Skincare is advancing all the time and there are so many
now available. I’ll use the Urban Veda range as an example.
They have formulated 4 different toners to suit your
specific skin type; Oil prone skin, sensitive skin, dull or dry
skin and mature skin. So there is a toner to suit you.
The purifying toner is designed for oil prone skin and will
detoxify congested skin as its an antibacterial, clarifying
toner which will give you a refreshed, clear complexion.
Botanical extracts helps to mattify shiny t-zones and
reduce the appearance of spots, balancing sebum
production.
The soothing toner helps to clarify and refresh sensitive
skin while locking in moisture and gently cleansing without
altering the skin’s protective hydrolipidic film. Using myrrh
which relieves skin conditions such as eczema, calming
sandalwood, cooling aloe vera and skin tone-improving
orange.
There are a couple of methods to applying
toner, some like to splash on the toner and
dab into the skin whereas others prefer to
apply toner with a cotton pad. Personally
the latter is my preference so that the toner
can remove any residue from the cleanser
easily.
Remember to apply toner to your face,
neck and décolletage both morning and
night for long term results. The night time
application will complete the cleansing
of the skin, ensuring you sleep with clean
skin. In the morning it will remove sebum
produced during the night and balance
your skin’s pH. Written by Sarah Gare.
The radiance toner uses a complexion-enhancing
hydrating formula to remove all traces of makeup and
remaining cleanser while it balances the pH level of your
skin. It is particularly beneficial to dry, dehydrated and
dull complexions. It’s also great for balancing skin tone,
including those struggling with hyper pigmentation.
The reviving Hydrating toner is designed to revitalise and
refresh tired and mature skin by to removing all traces of
cleanser, locking in moisture and balancing the pH level of
the skin. Enriched with bio oils to improve elasticity and
restore suppleness. Gently removing impurities and dulling
debris with clarifying flower waters, fortified with vitamins
and plant extracts to help reduce the appearance of scars
and soothe dry skin.
When should I use toner?
Often there is a time limit for how long to keep a product
on your skin for best results and toner is no different. It is
said that you should apply a toner no later than a minute
after you have cleansed your skin.
I know that sounds very precise but it is scientifically
proven that most ingredients penetrate the skin better
when it is wet.
