hits its $5M goal
Arts Network Ottawa is proud to announce that the
$5M fundraising goal was hit in early 2019. Established
in 2007 by Arts Network Ottawa | Réseau des arts
d’Ottawa (formerly AOE Arts Council), the ARTicipate
Endowment Fund supports artistic programming in
professional spaces at the Shenkman Arts Centre.
Each year, the interest earned on the endowment
is distributed as in the form of grants through
an application process to local artists and arts
organizations who will present or exhibit their work at
the Centre.
The Fund’s objectives are to: foster the presentation
and exhibition of high quality artistic work; invest in
local artists and arts organizations; provide access
to non-resident artists and arts organizations; foster
English, French and bilingual artistic activities; spark
collaborative projects involving more than one artist
and/or arts organization; and to support activities of
the Resident Arts Partners (Gloucester Pottery School,
MIFO, Ottawa School of Art, Ottawa School of Theatre,
and Arts Network Ottawa).
“It’s an endowment fund that was 10 years in the
making, but it will ensure healthy programming at
Shenkman Arts Centre for years to come,” announced
Margo Hébert, Manager of Marketing and Development
for Arts Network Ottawa. “We thank all of the wonderful
donors for their generous support of the Shenkman
community,” she continued.
