Student Life October 2019

As Pam made her final speech and
closed the show, I found myself
welling up. I didn’t expect to get
emotional, but it was clear to see
just how much hard work the whole
Suffolk Fashion Show team had put
in. From the overall design of the
stage, to the dressing of each table,
every detail of the show had been
planned and preened in order to
make the night perfect.
With all the models used coming
from Fashion Candy Style’s model
bank, it was beautiful to see a wide
representation of people, confidently
presenting each collection. For both
the men’s and women’s fashion,
there was a great selection of
brands, showcasing everything from
causal and outerwear, to formal and
occasion wear, meaning there was
something for everyone. Pam hosted
the night, talking through each of
the brand’s collections, giving us
an insight into the inspirations and
background information.
During the evening, the Suffolk
Fashion Show hosted a raffle which
helped raise even more money for
Lighthouse Women’s Aid, with some
amazing prizes donated by the
supporting organisations.

2019 should be immensely proud
of themselves for creating such a
wonderful event! I had an amazing
time and I will definitely be saving
the 8th October 2020 into my diary
as the Suffolk Fashion Show is
definitely not one to miss!
TSHEQUA WILLIAMS
I attended 2019’s Suffolk Fashion Show
with Tshequa and it was really fun! The
collections demonstrated at the event
were very innovative and showed real
skill on the Suffolk fashion scene. Whilst I
enjoyed all of the outfits on show I was, as
could be expected, more drawn towards
the men’s fashion.
My personal fashion tends to be quite
smart, so I really enjoyed the formal
collections displayed by Moss Bros, Twist
and Shout, and Hall Street. The suits and
jumpers were perfect for me and I will
certainly be paying a visit to some of the
shops.
The show’s catwalk was innovatively
shaped to make the most of the small,
intimate room. It was circular which
allowed the models to pass one another
and was perfectly designed so that each
part of the audience had a clear view.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fashion show!
It was wonderful to see the latest trends
being explored in Suffolk; bringing the
displays from the world’s fashion capitals
to Ipswich was a really good experience.
