Call for Proposal: Chinese Language Teachers Association<br />
of California (<strong>CLTA</strong>C) <strong>2020</strong> Spring Conference<br />
Conference Theme: Global Competence<br />
The <strong>CLTA</strong>C <strong>2020</strong> Spring Conference will be held at Stanford University on March 7th. Now the<br />
Organizing Committee invites submission of proposals for 20-minute individual presentations or 60-<br />
minutes panel presentations. The Conference theme is Global Competence. We welcome proposals<br />
in all areas and issues in researching, teaching and learning Chinese and culture at multiple levels in<br />
different settings, such as theories, methodologies and strategies, Chinese linguistics and Chinese<br />
pedagogical grammar, second language acquisition of Chinese, classroom teaching practices,<br />
technology application to Chinese teaching, K-12 Standard-based instruction, proficiency- and/or<br />
performance-based assessments, thematic unit lesson planning, curricular development, reading and<br />
writing literacy development, AP Chinese, teaching culture, teaching heritage students, study abroad,<br />
teacher training, immersion programs, classroom management, etc.<br />

February 17, <strong>2020</strong> Early registration deadline: Monday, February 24, <strong>2020</strong> Conference date:<br />

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION<br />
Send a one-page proposal of no more than 350 words in English, or 500 characters in Chinese as an<br />
email attachment in MS-Word format to <strong>CLTA</strong>C Conferences at .<br />
1) In the subject line of the email, type "<strong>CLTA</strong>C <strong>2020</strong> Spring Conference Proposal". In the body of<br />
the email, provide the following information:<br />
Paper Title<br />
Name of the Presenter School/Organization Instructor or Graduate Student<br />
Detailed Contact Info (email address, regular mail address, and cell phone number)<br />
2) Do NOT include your name or institutional affiliation in the proposal since all proposals will be<br />
anonymously reviewed.<br />
3) Only one abstract from each person will be considered. Multiple submissions are not allowed.<br />
4) The accepted presenters are expected to submit a PDF handout or PPT of the presentation to<br />
<strong>CLTA</strong>C immediately after the conference. The PDF handout or PPT will be uploaded to the<br />
<strong>CLTA</strong>C website after the conference.<br />
<strong>CLTA</strong>C BEST PRESENTATION AWARD<br />
This year, the conference will give up to four (4) <strong>CLTA</strong>C Best Presentation Awards, with up to two<br />
(2) for K-12 Chinese language instructors and up to two (2) for graduate students. All presentations<br />
by K-12 instructors and graduate students will be considered automatically. The selection is based on<br />
both content and style of presentation. Each <strong>CLTA</strong>C Best Presentation Award carries a certificate<br />
and $100.<br />
REGISTRATION<br />
The conference is open to both members and non-members of <strong>CLTA</strong>C. Registration is required.<br />
