Interested candidates must submit their<br />

March 15, <strong>2020</strong>, and include:<br />

1. Letter of application (cover letter)<br />

including statement of teaching philosophy<br />

2. Curriculum vitae<br />

3. List of names and email addresses only of<br />

three references<br />

4. A video demonstration of your teaching<br />

including an introduction of yourself in<br />

English and Chinese at the beginning of the<br />

video. (We do not accept DVDs by surface<br />

mail. A YouTube link address with<br />

password is acceptable.)<br />

Your application is not considered complete<br />

until all four items above have been<br />

submitted. Please do not submit materials<br />

other than those listed via Interfolio,<br />

otherwise your application will not be<br />

considered.<br />

anticipates one or more openings for a fulltime<br />

Language Instructor/Teaching<br />

Assistant in Chinese expected to begin<br />

August 1, <strong>2020</strong> and to extend through June<br />

30, 2021. Language instructors (formerly<br />

Drill Instructors) assist course heads in<br />

Chinese language classes, assist in<br />

preparation of teaching materials, and teach<br />

individual drill sections. Candidates must<br />

have native or near-native fluency in<br />

Chinese; a bachelor’s degree or higher;<br />

experience teaching Chinese at the college<br />

level to students whose native language is<br />

English; and computer literacy. Candidates<br />

with experience teaching intensive summer<br />

programs in China for U.S. college students<br />

(such as Harvard Beijing Academy)<br />

preferred. Candidates with a master’s degree<br />

and advanced fluency in English are also<br />

preferred.<br />

1. A cover letter, including a description of<br />

teaching experience and philosophy and<br />

comments on any efforts to encourage<br />

diversity, inclusion, and belonging.<br />

2. A Curriculum Vitae<br />

3. Names and contact information of three<br />

referees, who will be asked by a systemgenerated<br />

email to upload a letter of<br />

recommendation once the candidate’s<br />

application has been submitted. Three letters<br />

of recommendation are required, and the<br />

application is considered complete only<br />

when at least three letters have been<br />

received.<br />

Candidates should also send a 20-minute<br />

video of the applicant teaching by URL<br />
