Qualifications<br />
A PhD in a relevant field is required. In<br />
addition to experience supervising faculty<br />
and curricula, candidates should have<br />
demonstrated teaching excellence and an<br />
interest in teaching in a diverse,<br />
international setting. Familiarity with<br />
examinations for certification of language<br />
proficiency is desirable. Experience teaching<br />
non-native speakers of English preferred,<br />
but not required. This is a contract position<br />
with the possibility of renewal.<br />

Duke Kunshan University invites<br />
applications for faculty positions in Chinese<br />
language (Instructor/Lecturer/Senior<br />
Lecturer) in its Language and Culture<br />
Center. DKU offers an innovative and<br />
interdisciplinary undergraduate liberal arts<br />
program leading to both Duke and DKU<br />
degrees. The Language and Culture Center<br />
provides Chinese language courses at all<br />
levels, ranging from beginning to advanced,<br />
for international students in this program.<br />
Positions start in July <strong>2020</strong>.<br />
All candidates must have a graduate degree<br />
in a relevant field (e.g. Chinese language<br />
teaching, foreign language education,<br />
applied linguistics), and also university-level<br />
language teaching experience. In addition to<br />
mastery of spoken and written Chinese,<br />
candidates should have strong English skills.<br />
Preference will be given to candidates who<br />
speak additional languages, have studied<br />
intercultural communication, and/or have<br />
experience working in multi-cultural<br />
settings. Experience presenting at<br />
workshops and conferences and/or writing<br />
for publication is also an asset.<br />

curriculum vitae, and a teaching/research<br />
statement, and should arrange to have three<br />
