Experience: Teaching experience at the<br />

college level, preferably at the advanced<br />

level. Teaching experience with computeraided<br />

instruction and online resources. Will<br />

take a leadership role in working with<br />

advanced directed studies courses for<br />

Chinese Flagship students, independent<br />

study courses, and Chinese for special<br />

purposes.<br />

Duties/Expectations: This position has a key<br />

role in the Chinese Flagship Program. The<br />

incumbent will teach advanced language<br />

courses in the Chinese Flagship Program<br />

and will be involved in departmental<br />

development activities. Will assist in<br />

training new Flagship faculty. Will hire,<br />

supervise and train other Flagship graduate<br />

assistants, tutors and student instructors.<br />

Will be involved in interviewing and<br />

selecting students for program participation.<br />

Will provide feedback about student<br />

progress and language proficiency of each<br />

participant.<br />

York)<br />

The Chinese Program in the East Asian<br />

Languages and Literatures Department at<br />

Hamilton College invites applications for a<br />

full-time one-year visiting position in<br />

Chinese Language effective July <strong>2020</strong>.<br />

Responsibilities include teaching language<br />

courses at various levels as well as one nonlanguage<br />

course. The teaching load is five<br />

courses. Your cover letter should address the<br />

ways in which you would further the<br />

College’s goal of building a diverse<br />

educational environment. Previous<br />

experience in teaching or working with<br />

diverse student populations is an asset.<br />

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in<br />

pedagogy, foreign language education or<br />

relevant fields; be fluent in Chinese and<br />

English; and have training and experience in<br />

Chinese language teaching at the college<br />
