Filmstar. Emigrantin. Schönste Frau der Welt. Kämpferin gegen den Nationalsozialismus. Erfinderin. Hotelbesitzerin. Das Leben der
1914 als Hedwig Kiesler in Wien geborenen und als Hedy Lamarr in Hollywood zum Weltruhm gekommenen Diva verlief wie ein
leicht überfrachtetes Hollywood-Script. Die Ausstellung „Lady Bluetooth. Hedy Lamarr“ im Jüdischen Museum Wien beleuchtet
noch bis 10.05.2020 die faszinierende und schillernde Biografie der Schauspielerin und Erfinderin.

diva born Hedwig Kiesler in Vienna in 1914 and made world-famous as Hedy Lamarr in Hollywood played out a little something like
an over-the-top Hollywood plotline. The exhibition “Lady Bluetooth. Hedy Lamarr” at the Jewish Museum Vienna will continue to
shine a light on the fascinating and dazzling biography of the actress and inventor until 10.05.2020.

Das Museumsquartier Wien wächst in die Höhe! Auf dem Dach des Leopold Museums
eröffnet die MQ Libelle: Rooftop mit grandiosem Ausblick über die Wiener Innenstadt und
futuristischer Pavillon für Kunst- und Kulturprojekte. Die Architektur von Ortner & Ortner
wird ergänzt durch Interventionen von zwei der bedeutendsten Künstlerinnen Österreichs:
Brigitte Kowanz gestaltet eine permanente Lichtinstallation, von Eva Schlegel stammt die
Glaswand der MQ Libelle. Die Terrasse ist frei zugänglich, vom 21.-26.04.2020 wird
Eröffnung gefeiert!
The MuseumsQuartier in Vienna is reaching for the sky! The roof of the Leopold Museum
will now be graced with the new MQ Libelle: a rooftop venue with a spectacular view of
Vienna’s city centre and a futuristic pavilion for art and culture projects. Designed by
Ortner & Ortner architects, the space is complemented by installations by two of the most
important contemporary Austrian artists: Brigitte Kowanz designed a permanent light
installation, whereas Eva Schlegel created the MQ Libelle’s glass wall. The terrace is freely
accessible and the festive launch is set to be held from 21 to 26 April 2020.

Die Gesellschaft bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler Österreichs bespielt in Zukunft
das Obergeschoß des frisch sanierten Künstlerhauses und feiert am 06.03.2020 mit
einem Fest und der Eröffnungsausstellung „Alles war klar“ den Wiedereinzug und den
neuen Veranstaltungsraum „Factory“. Die bedeutende Sammlung von Gegenwartskunst
der Albertina zieht ins Erdgeschoß ein und eröffnet am 12.03.2020 als Albertina
Modern mit der Ausstellung „The Beginning. Österreichische Kunst 1945 bis 1980“.
The “Gesellschaft bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler Österreichs” (“Society of
Visual Artists in Austria“) will soon begin performing on the top floor of the freshly
renovated “Künstlerhaus” and is set to celebrate the return to the new “Factory”
event room with a festive inaugural exhibition titled “Alles war klar” (“Everything
was clear”) on 06.03.2020. The Albertina’s contemporary art collection is moving
to the ground floor and will re-open with the new name Albertina Modern and with
the exhibition “The Beginning. Austrian Art 1945 to 1980” on 12.03.2020.

Wien Museum MUSA zeigt noch bis
20.09.2020 aktuelle Fotos der
überzeugenden Bauten, auf einer
zweiten Ebene wird die wechselvolle
Beziehung Neutras zu seiner
Heimatstadt Wien ausgeleuchtet.
Richard Neutra, who was born in
Vienna in 1982 and emigrated to the
USA in 1923, designed countless
iconic buildings of classic modernism,
which continue to fascinate with their
functionality and design quality to
this very day. “Richard Neutra.
Residential buildings for California” at
the Wien Museum will display
contemporary photographs of the
impressive buildings until
20.09.2020. A second floor will focus
on Neutra’s changing relationship
with his hometown of Vienna.
