CLIMATE PROTECTION IS
IN OUR DNA
Overcoming ecological challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions: Energy-efficient
and environmental technologies are the future. As a leading premium pump and pump systems
provider, Wilo is doing more than just helping to modernize energy and water supply systems
around the world. With its intelligent system solutions, the company is also sustainably
supporting a significant reduction in global energy and water consumption. In doing so, the
Wilo Group is making an important contribution toward slowing down the rate of climate change
while achieving the environmental aims of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Green technology as an opportunity
Is it possible for a business to be financially
successful while simultaneously
protecting the natural resources needed
to support people today and in generations
to come? Most people would say
these are two conflicting aims. In reality,
however, the “green” markets of the
future are characterized both by their
key role in preserving the environment
and by their considerable economic importance
and potential.
The demand for environmental and
climate-protection technologies is on the
rise globally, as is the need for products
and solutions that are resource-efficient
and environmentally friendly. According
to the German Federal Ministry for the
Environment, the global turnover for the
six “green” lead markets is expected to
reach €5,902 billion in 2025.
One thing is certain: Resource-efficient
and environmental technology products,
processes, and services will be vital for
achieving the goals set by the Paris Agreement
on climate change and Agenda
2030.
“
Climate protection is part
of our business model.
Our work with the precious
resources of water
and energy, as well as our
approach to protecting the
environment, requires a
sustainable mindset and
actions. These are firmly
anchored in Wilo’s
corporate culture.
Sustainable thinking and behavior
The core of the Wilo sustainability
strategy is to supply more people with
clean water – while also reducing our
environmental footprint. By implementing
its own products and solutions, the
Wilo Group seeks to ensure that by 2025
around 100 million people will have
better access to clean water than they
do today.
“Climate protection is part of our business
model,” says Oliver Hermes. “Our work
with the precious resources of water
and energy, as well as our approach to
protecting the environment, requires a
sustainable mindset and actions. These
are firmly anchored in Wilo’s corporate
culture,” the President & Chief Executive
Officer Wilo Group emphasizes further.
As a globally leading technology firm
focusing on the use of water in building
services, water management, and
industry, the Wilo Group is able to add
value and sustainability through the
use of its high-efficiency technology.
Realistic estimates put the energy use
of pumps at approximately 10 per cent
