Doppelmayr Direct Drive: lowmaintenance
and whisper-quiet
The drive is the centerpiece of any ropeway installation. It has to deliver power and
reliability on the one hand while being low-maintenance and environmentally friendly
on the other. The Doppelmayr Direct Drive meets all these requirements. Its modular
construction also brings many benefits in day-to-day operations.

The Doppelmayr Direct Drive (DDD) is
high-performance, energy-efficient and maintenance-friendly.
This drive uses a permanent
magnet synchronous motor, which is watercooled.
As the DDD does not require a gear
unit, no gearbox oil is required and therefore
the associated maintenance costs no longer
apply. At the same time, the efficiency of the
drive is very high. In terms of quiet running, the
DDD is also impressive: In direct comparison
with other drive concepts, the DDD has the
lowest noise emissions, which has a positive
impact on the environment – particularly when
the drive is housed in a bottom station located
in the center of a village.
