Situations such as an intense stress situation,
sudden increase in blood pressure or high blood
Stroke is a preventable disease by controlling
risk factors. Interventional Neurologist Assoc. Dr.
Neurology Clinic, Samsun Training and Research
Hospital, Samsun University (SU) shared
important information on the occasion of “10th
May, World Stroke Day” and made suggestions to
patients regarding the Covid-19 period.
Stroke is an abrupt interruption of constant blood flow
to the brain that causes loss of neurological function.
The interruption of blood flow can be caused by a
blockage, leading to the more common ischemic stroke,
or by bleeding in the brain, leading to the more deadly
hemorrhagic stroke. Ischemic stroke constitutes an
estimated one third of all stroke cases. Stroke often occurs
with little or no warning, and the results can be devastating.
Situations such as an intense stress situation, sudden
increase in blood pressure or high blood sugar can trigger
the development of stroke.
Pay attention to risk factors that cause stroke
