The dying man said

The priest repeated his
order. Still the dying
man said nothing.
The priest asked, “Why
do you refuse to denounce
the devil and
his evil?”
The dying man said,
“Until I know where I’m
heading, I don’t think
I ought to aggravate
anybody.”

Little Timmy came
home from school all
excited one day.
“Dad, Dad, I got a part
in the school play!”
“That’s wonderful,
son!” the dad exclaimed.
“Who will you
be playing?”
Timmy answered, “I’m
playing a middle-aged
man who’s been married
for 25 years.”
“Well, that’s okay, son.
Maybe next time you’ll
get a speaking part.”
I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think,
“Well, that’s not going to happen.”
