Madamos (Butlers)
Because madamas usually get all the attention, the spirits of the wise butlers
and assistants to the powerful have been mostly forgotten. But all powerful
people need a trusted advisor who has their backs through thick and thin.
And this is the madamo. He looks out for his people and guides them
toward the wisest decision for themselves.
Madamos are often represented on the altar by a statue of a man in a
black suit with a perfect mustache, sitting close to the front, always ready to
times. Although they are often represented on the altar, these guides like to
be a bit separated from other guides.
King Solomon, who was famed for his magical and spiritual capacities,
is one of the viejos of this court. He was renowned for his wisdom, but he
was also known to have power over negative spirits.
Sanaciónes (Healing Guides)
One of the most popular courts among espiritistas are the healing guides,
who assist with all levels of spiritual, physical, and mental health. Although
all the spirits within Espiritismo have the power to heal, these spirits often
deal with medicine in the Western sense. They are also excellent at helping
to diagnose illnesses. Some were doctors, surgeons, and other medical
