SEBASTIEN RESSLER<br />
Sebastien Ressler is an outgoing, athletic, dedicated student who<br />
strives to help others. He plays on the SIMA (Soccer Institute at<br />
Montverde Academy) Varsity team, Varsity Cross Country, and serves<br />
on the Student Leadership Council, a Head Prefect, and as an<br />
Eagle Ambassador. As he juggles all his responsibilities,<br />
he remains true to himself, trying to make a difference<br />
day by day.<br />
One of the most important things to him is<br />
family. “I want to major in Business and<br />
one day be able to take over our<br />
family tree farm in Groveland,” said<br />
Sebastien. “My goal is to also<br />
minor in Agriculture and learn<br />
about business as an intern<br />
elsewhere so I can come<br />
back and work in my<br />
family’s business.”<br />
His seven years at MVA have shaped him into becoming<br />
an educated young man and he aspires to use all he has<br />
learned here in future endeavors. His recent acceptance to<br />
Cornell University was a true dream come true for him.<br />
“When I first opened the letter, I was in shock. I was so<br />
shocked I double-checked the address on the letter to<br />
make sure I applied to the correct Cornell University and<br />
not one of its feeder schools. I had only applied because my<br />
mother insisted that I apply to at least one Ivy League school.<br />
When I had been accepted, I realized that my college decision had<br />
become so much easier with the Cornell University perfectly aligning<br />
with what I wanted to do in the future. The agri-business program<br />
is ranked first in the United States and would set me up perfectly to<br />
eventually come back and work for my family farm. I am extremely<br />
excited for the next four years and hope it is not too cold!”<br />
One of Sebastienʼs favorite memories at Montverde Academy was as<br />
a Senior Prefect. “I would say this year living in the dorms as a Prefect<br />
student was one of my favorites. It changed me the most as I had to<br />
go outside of my comfort zone, learn from others and living with other<br />
students prepared me a bit for college and the experience I will<br />
have there.”<br />
