CJ ROSADO
Cristian “CJ” Rosado is an incredibly talented, charismatic, smart
young man who loves the entertainment world. His bright personality
is part of the Puerto Rican heritage that his family has instilled in
him. He believes that has helped him thrive on stage. CJ found his
love for theatre by chance, well, by a dare actually and it quickly
became a big part of his life, so much so that he began voice
lessons to enhance his acting.
“I always thought that I had an okay voice for singing, and when
I started theatre and actually taking voice lessons, I really liked
it,” said CJ. “This all started on a dare in a coin flip, and I joined
theatre, and loved every minute of it, but in the back of my mind
I have always wanted to do game design, so I decided to
combine both. I will work on the story-telling part of game
design, that way I get the best of both worlds and do something
I am truly passionate about. I know I don't want to leave theatre
behind, it is part of me now.”
As he describes himself, he says he brings light to the room,
and many of his peers agree. “When Daniel Mills passed
away, I was devastated. We were close. He loved being the
light of the room and when he passed, that was transferred
on to me. I will always remember him and keep bringing his
light with me wherever I go.” CJ is part of the Daniel Mills
Apprenticeship Program at the Garden Theatre as well.
CJ reflects on his favorite memory at the Academy, “Last
year our production of “Something Rotten” was nominated
for the Applause Award at Dr. Phillips Center for the
Performing Arts and won Best Musical. At Dr. Phillips I
performed a song called “A Musical”, and it was incredible.
There was a moment when the song ended when
everyone was cheering and clapping, and that was the
happiest moment for me, it felt like my job was done as
an actor. I wish I could take that moment and keep it in
a jar where I can keep it forever and relive it.”
