typical of the south of Spain, originally created by the Andalusian
Gypsies, similar to the blues that originated in America’s Deep
South. We purchased tickets to see an arena bullfight. When we
left the arena, I purchased a few CD’s with passodoble music
played during the bullfights and one of my favorite rhythms that I
love to dance to, Spanish style, which is very difficult to find in
record stores in the USA.
We rented a car and drove along the peaceful Sierra Nevada to
Granada, the last capital of the Moors in Spain. We visited the
Alhambra Palace and toured the Garden of the Architect, where
the grounds are immaculately designed with waterfalls, courtyards
and smaller secret gardens…
We continued to Malaga that lies in southern Spain, the birth place
of the famous painter Pablo Picasso, where we spent the night and
marveled at the city center. In the evening, we watched fireworks,
synchronized to symphonic music that was heard through speakers
placed all over the city’s main avenue. The center was full of trees
and thousand of people everywhere. We then travelled by the coast
along the Mediterranean Costa del Sol, passing by Torremolinos
and Marbella, two tourist attractions, where we stopped for a few
days to enjoy the fantastic beaches and typical Spanish cuisine of
delicious tapas and the famous paella before leaving for Gibraltar,
a British small colony.
We drove to Ronda, where one of the oldest bullfight arenas was
built. As I am a bullfighting aficionado, I really enjoyed seeing
that historic landmark. We drove a little further to a very small
town named Mijas, where we had lunch and used my credit card to
pay a $28.00 bill in US currency and when I returned home to
USA, I received a bill in the amount of 7,800.00 dollars a month
later. I was shocked, called the American Express to investigate. A
few weeks later I received a call from the card company stating
