My Memoirs - Citizen of the World

About the Author:
Fred Pacheco is one of my close friends and thus I fell at liberty to say
that he is a very remarkable person. I have known Fred for over forty years,
almost from the day he stepped off the plane from the Azores. He was then,
and still is, an amazing combination of energy, intellect, good humor and
ambition. While is a true Azorean, he is as American as it gets! He loves
his adopted town of Bristol, serving it in many capacities, and in return
being honored by it as Chief Marshal of the Fourth of July celebration, and
president of the Bristol Rotary Club. Now Fred has written recollections
of his remarkable career, which we know will be a solid contribution to the
history of this great American town

I have known Frederico (Fred) Pacheco since he moved to Rhode Island,
as a young married man with his wife Deodete and two children, Angela
and Paulo, as an immigrant from the Azores Islands. Over the years, he has
founded and developed a successful travel agency in neighboring Warren
and eventually in the town of Bristol, RI. Fred has served as founder, officer
and chair of several community organizations in the greater Rhode Island
area. He has contributed, most notably, to the creation of the “Mosaico
Community Development Corporation” and, viewed by area citizens as
a leader and spokesman for many public causes. With the authorship of
his “Memoirs” he has offered a more inclusive compilation of his extensive
world-wide travels that many feel anxious to read and share. His focus,
precision and perseverance in the undertaking of his life story will serve
as a permanent and introspective account to both his children and grandchildren,
as well as to future generations of immigrant families coming to
the United States, who may be inspired to emulate Fred’s example.

our lives far more than others. Fred Pacheco is a man who has affected many
lives including my own. He is a caring person who sincerely cares for his
friends and family. Fred is a wonderful resource, having traveled the world
throughout his life. His love of travel is addictive and has encouraged me to
