Greenwich Village is a large residential neighborhood on the west
side of Lower Manhattan. It is full of art galleries and shops that
attract many tourists. It was known as a Bohemian capital and the
East Coast birthplace of the Beat movement. We always like to go
there and usually have lunch at an Italian Restaurant in Little Italy,
connected to the extraordinary China Town.
We cannot forget Broadway with all its theaters, where we make
sure we see one of many plays, whenever we visit our son, Paulo.
It is mandatory that Deodete and I drive to New York during the
Christmas season. It is spectacular to see the beautiful store
decorations as well as the very tall Christmas tree with thousands
of lights in Rockefeller Center and the breathtaking Christmas
Show at Radio City Music Hall. Our son Paulo fell in love with the
city a few years ago and that is the place he chose to live and work.
Washington, D.C. - My wife and I have travelled to our country’s
capital that I call the Monuments’ City. It is always a very
enjoyable and educational city for us to visit. The points of interest
are numerous, the White House; Lincoln Memorial; Supreme
Court, the Capitol (both, the House of Representatives and
Senate); The Smithsonian Institution that houses the largest
number of museums in America, such as the Air and Space
Museum, American Indian Museum, American Art Museum,
National History Museum and many others; and the National Mall.
The time of the year that we enjoy visiting Washington is during
the Spring Cherry Blossoms Festival, which is breathtaking!
Grand Canyon – Another Natural Wonder of the world is an
incredible steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in the
State of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon
National Park, one of the first national parks in the United States.
History tells us that President Theodore Roosevelt was a major
proponent of preservation of the area that he visited on numerous
