the reception. It was also fascinating to see marvelous typical
dances and folklore performed before the banquet. Although it was
a luxurious, rich affair, we could not forget the terrible contrast
between the very rich and the very poor…
We could not leave India without visiting the most referenced
landmark of India, The Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the
World. We travelled to Agra, not too far from New Delhi. It’s a
monument of immeasurable beauty, difficult to describe in words.
We visited the entire site made out of pure marble with exquisite
ornamentation and precious gemstones. What an experience!
North Africa
AFRICA
We flew to Malaga in the South of Spain and took a ferry to
Tangier which lies on the North Africa coast at the western
entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean meets
the Atlantic Ocean in Morocco. We took the historical tour of
Tangier, Ceuta and Fez, three cities that were occupied by the
Portuguese centuries ago. We were delighted to see and visit a few
Portuguese monuments,
South Africa
I travelled to South Africa as part of a group of travel agency
representatives. The group flew to Johannesburg, during the
apartheid, a terrible racial segregation system of government that
existed in South Africa back then. We went on a guided tour of the
cosmopolitan center of Johannesburg and then a tour of Soweto a
township, which was more like a ghetto, where the black South
