So what if he wears
ankle socks with
sandals? He’s Dad and
we love him.
But what do you get a guy
besides the usual boring shirt,
tie, or tickets to a game? Well,
look no further because we here
at Atlantic Ave Magazine have come
up with a few novel ideas for you to consider for
your Delray Dad.
Go Deep with Dad
If your Dad’s adventurous consider diving
or snorkeling! Known as the Delray Wreck, the
Inchulva rests about 150 yards off the south
end of Delray’s Public Beach in about 20 feet
of water. Grounded in shallow water the ship
sank September 11, 1903 in an unnamed hurricane.
The 38 crew members did not know
land was just 100 yards away. Nine sailors
died that day and were buried in the dunes.
The Delray Wreck is a 386-foot steel-hulled
steamship schooner. There are three pieces to
the wreck visible today each about 200 feet
Ideas to Make
Dad
Feel Special
Dads are awesome. All
year long they work hard,
play hard, and quietly
take care of business.
Father’s Day is our chance
to tell Dad how much we
appreciate him.
from each other about 150 yards east from the
boat ramp. The Delray Wreck is great for snorkeling
or beginner scuba divers. You can rent
kayaks, paddle boards and mask and snorkels
from Delray Beach Water Sports. They can even
give you a tour of the wreck! Call 561 272 SURF.
