Trippa
from my heart. Each dish is homemade, and I can make any type of
food you want from any country.”
The reason is simply that Michael has been cooking since he
could tie his shoelaces. As a child his parents worked a lot and he
often got home hungry and tired. That is why Michael developed
his culinary gift early in life.
“My parents were hairdressers and rarely cooked so I would take
whatever was in the kitchen and prepare a gourmet meal. I could
barely reach the stove, but when they came home there was a complete
meal on the table,” said the father of two.
One of his all-time favorite dishes to prepare for guests is the
Homemade Lasagna topped with a short rib meatball sprinkled
with parmesan cheese. His other popular dish is the Homemade
tri-color tagliatelle pasta in a light garlic sauce with roasted mixed
vegetables and shrimp.
If you ask Peter G. he will tell you there are other things on the
menu to celebrate as well.
“This was the Best Italian food I have had since I was in Italy! The
restaurant is intimate, unassuming, and it blew us away. We had
pasta Vincenzo, chicken parm, chicken Marsala, penne vodka with
chicken and shrimp pasta. My family devoured it all. The bacon
Caesar salad and eggplant stack appetizers all great too.”
Because Michel likes to entertain his guests (and revels in the
delight of cooking for others), he brought back a tradition that added
class and taste to certain dishes. He will flambé a dish at the
table. If you opt for homemade Penne alla Vodka it’s freshly cooked
at your table with butter, cream, marinara sauce and onions and
torched with a flame so it’s piping hot and flavorful.
If seafood is on your wish list try their newest dish from the sea,
the fresh Branzini with spinach and a crab cake in a lemon wine
sauce. The uniqueness of this home style restaurant is that you can
get what you crave, or you can leave the cooking (and creating) to
Michael.
Elyse found this out right away. “We had a fabulous meal here
last night. We sat at an outdoor table and enjoyed an appetizer of
mussels and Lobster Ravioli that were both delicious. We also loved
their homemade garlic bread. Michael was warm and friendly. We
sat a block away from the Swing Jazz Festival and we could hear
the music while dining and people watching. It was a great experience!”
Il Contadino also serves lunch with dishes such as Italian antipasti,
soups, wraps, salads, veal and pasta.
You can also have an event catered in the restaurant (or at another
location). IL Contadino is also available for weddings and parties
and can be rented out for any occasion. The old- world charm of
Branzino w seafood crab cake
this space makes it conducive for intimacy and social engagement.
At weekends IL Contadino may surprise you with live music to
make your culinary experience authentic and romantic.
Entertainer Frank Bruno might show up with his keyboard and
guitar and serenade you under the Florida foliage. This legendary
musician has played around the world for celebrities (and worldclass
venues) and brings his beautiful tunes to your table with
grace and dexterity.
“My mission is to make you feel at home at my restaurant, I am
proud of the homemade food we serve and happy with our signature
meatball dish. Come enjoy yourself and celebrate life. Our
motto is to please everyone who comes here.”
