Villa de Moya remains faithful to its traditions by
delivering toys to Casa Galicia and food to the Food
Bank, an unmissable event held in the town year
after year. The town’s mayor, Raúl Afonso, accompanied
by the councillor for Social Policies, Lucía
Rodríguez and Santiago Santana, councillor for
Social Services, went along to make the traditional
donation.
The ceremony began at Casa Galicia, where they
were welcomed by the president, Albino Aneiros. It
was there where they handed over a large number
of toys, from board games to cuddly toys, as well
as entertainment and educational games, with
the aim of helping to alleviate the situation of disadvantaged
families so that they too can enjoy a

youngest members of the family will be present in
the homes. At Casa Galicia and following the traditional
delivery, president Aneiros explained how
the collection of toys works, from the initial delivery
and their classification to when they are chosen by
the Three Wise Men and given out as personalised
gifts to each child.
This was followed by the mayor, Raúl Afonso, accompanied
by the councillors, who made their way
to the Food Bank. There, he was received by Pedro
Llorca, president of the Food Bank, to whom
he handed over 4,004 kilos of non-perishable food
which went towards helping the neediest families
and making the festive season more special.
As the mayor pointed out, "This is a special and
meaningful delivery for us. We know that we must
always stand by those who need it most and to
come here and deliver both the toys and the food
and to be informed about the situation makes us
come back year after year. We have covered the
needs of the most hard up families in our municipality
and now we are doing our bit, through these
organisations, to help the rest of the families on
the island so that they can enjoy this always special
time with their loved ones".
The donation is the means through which the
Town Council of Villa de Moya is able to collaborate
with the work carried out by Casa Galicia and the
Food Bank, and to help alleviate the situation of
less fortunate families at the most magical time of
the year.

a la Casa Galicia y el Banco de Alimentos
La Villa de Moya es fiel a sus tradiciones y la
entrega de juguetes a la Casa Galicia y al Banco
de Alimentos es una cita ineludible año tras
año. El alcalde, Raúl Afonso, acompañado de la
concejala de Política Social, Lucía Rodríguez y
Santiago Santana, concejal de Servicios acudieron
a realizar la tradicional donación.
La entrega comenzó en la Casa Galicia, lugar
en el que fueron recibidos por el presidente,
Albino Aneiros. Fue allí donde entregaron un
gran número de juguetes, desde juegos de
mesa hasta peluches, pasando por juegos de
entretenimiento y otros educativos, con el objetivo
de contribuir a paliar la situación de las
familias sin recursos para que puedan disfrutar
de unas navidades en la que la ilusión de
los más pequeños inunde los hogares. En la
Casa Galicia y tras la tradicional entrega, Albino
Aneiros, explicó el funcionamiento de la
recogida de juguetes desde la entrega inicial
y su clasificación hasta que son escogidos por
los Reyes Magos de forma personalizada para
cada niño.
Seguidamente, el alcalde, Raúl Afonso, acompañado
de los concejales se desplazó hasta el
Banco de Alimentos. Allí, fue recibido por Pedro
Llorca, presidente del Banco de Alimentos,
a quien hizo entrega de 4.004 kilos de comida
no perecedera con la que contribuir a ayudar a
las familias más necesitadas con el objetivo de
hacer estas fechas más especiales.
“Para nosotros es una entrega especial y significativa.
Sabemos que siempre debemos estar
al lado de los que más lo necesitan y venir hasta
aquí y entregar tanto los juguetes como la comida
y que nos cuenten la situación hace que
volvamos año tras año. Nosotros las necesidades
de las familias más necesitadas de nuestro
municipio las tenemos cubiertas y ahora aportamos
nuestros granito de arena, a través de
estas organizaciones, para ayudar al resto de
familias de la Isla a que puedan disfrutar de
unas fechas que siempre son especiales al lado
de los suyos”, resalta el alcalde Raúl Afonso.
Una donación con la que el Ayuntamiento de
la Villa de Moya busca ayudar y colaborar con
la labor que realizan en la Casa Galicia y en el
Banco de Alimentos, con el objetivo de contribuir
a paliar la situación de las familias sin recursos
en la época más mágica del año.
