Remember Him?

thought I’d write this month about a wonderful
I actor and friend by the name of Michael
Dante.
Now you might not recognize him by name,
but if you watched any of the TV shows (mostly
from the 50s and 60s) you would definitely
remember him. He was on just about every TV
show there was!
If you’re a “Trekkie“ then you will certainly
remember him from an episode of Star Trek
called “Friday’s Child.” Another one that
he is remembered for is his starring role in
1975 where he played the title role as the
legendary Blackhawk Chief in a movie called
“Winterhawk.”
Some of the other shows he was in that you
might remember are Cheyenne, Perry Mason,
Bonanza, The Six Million Dollar Man, Death
Valley Days, Daniel Boone, The Big Valley,
Maverick and many, many more.
He also had a recurring role in the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”
The list goes on and on. Michael was also a radio talk show host, and
he also has a wonderful book out called “From Hollywood to Michael
Dante Way “ (which I highly recommend) and is available on Amazon.
At one time he was under contract to MGM, Warner Bros. and 20 th
Century Fox.
Michael is now 92 years old, looks wonderful, and is still active doing
autograph shows, book signings and appearances. I was lucky to see
him recently at The Star Trek convention here
in Las Vegas .
I’ve known Michael and his lovely wife Mary
Jane for several years and I adore them both.
The one thing that I particularly love about
him is that he is always so pleasant and is the
epitome of a gentleman. He is soft spoken, kind,
gentle and warm and always has a smile on his
face.
Oh, and did I mention that at one time he was
a professional baseball player? He played right
after High School for the Boston Braves - that
is until the acting bug bit him and lucky for us
that it did!
