The «Sacred Rock» is built in the 3rd millennium B.C. on a<br />
hill 70 metres above the town of <strong>Athens</strong> and is the most<br />
important site of the city. In the same area there is the<br />
Parthenon temple, the temple of Apteros Niki (Wingless<br />
Victory) and the Erechteion.<br />
THE ODEION OF HERODES ATTICUS-HERODEION<br />

The theatre was built by Herodes Atticus in 101 A.D. and<br />
held 6,000 people.Today the Festival of <strong>Athens</strong> takes<br />

The Ancient Agora (market) was the center of the ancient<br />
Athenian every-day life. On the western site of the Agora<br />
lies the temple of Apollo and the Mitroon (where the city<br />
archives were kept).<br />
THE KALLIMARMARO STADIUM<br />

Built in 329 B.C. and rebuilt in 140 A.D. by Herodes Atticus.<br />
In 1895 it was revealed and reconstructed in marble in<br />
order to host the revival of the Olympic Games in 1896.<br />

SANCTUARY OF POSEIDON<br />

65 km southeast of <strong>Athens</strong>, it is one of the few temples<br />
built to Poseidon. Built in the fifth century B.C. the temple<br />
offers a magnificent sunset and breathtaking view to the<br />
Aegean Sea.<br />

Olympian Zeus, the biggest temple in Greece and an<br />
