Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our RagS to
RiC hES Ca m pa i g n. Many bags will be delivered to FRETEX in
the near future.
SWEC’s ‘Boxes for Bumblebees’ raffle is not going as well
as they’d hoped so thay want to extend the sale of raffle tickets
into March. Have you seen all the colourfully wrapped prizes
they have donated? There are four bags of them displayed on
their notice board outside the cafeteria. Please support their
efforts to raise money for
Bumblebee Conservation. What

for sustenance after their winter

YEPA’s Ceilidh was well attended by a very enthusiastic and
energetic group of students and parents. Thank you all for
coming! The Jurassic Ceilidh Band were lively and got everyone’s
toes tapping and hands clapping. We would like to thank the
band very much for their contribution to the evening’s success
and also for giving their services free of charge. Kr.2811 was
raised for Min Dag i Dag and Livsglede for Eldre.
We are happy to acknowledge some recent donations. Ben Neil
gave kr 46:5 which he’d earned during the Christmas holiday
period - this to be added to our funds for Action Aid. Thank
you, Ben. Also for Action Aid, kr 902 was donated by teachers,
students and parents in PS 3 from the proceeds of a Class Cafe!
Well done Pre-school 3! Thirdly, Mrs, Svihus, on behalf of the
Art Department, gave kr 1060 for the ‘Touching Lives’ Appeal.
This was from the sale of HS students’ art work. Thank you
all!
Looking ahead to March there are two events coming up - Red
Nose Day and a Coffee House to celebrate World Water Day.

nB! We are looking for performers for the Coffee House
from faculty and parents too. Share your talents! We’d love
to hear from you so get in touch soon!
Lastly, the date for the Nearly New Sale in April has
been brought forward one week. It will now be on saturday,
18th April at 10:00 with set-up on Friday, 17th, 15:30 - 17:00.
You may sign up for tables at any time - kr 300 per table per
family (- two tables kr 500).
RED NOSE DAY - 11 March
On the 11th of March IFG, YEPA and SWEC are planning to
hold RED NOSE DAY at ISS. red noses will be on sale
from Monday 9th.
But what is Red Nose Day we hear you cry? Well, in schools,
offices and homes across the UK, everyone wears - you’ve
guessed it - the latest Red Nose and does whatever tickles their
fancy to raise cash. You name it, they do it! From sponsored
kissathons and flamboyant fancy dress to gungetastic trials and
naked pole vaulting. Ok, we made the last one up.
At ISS the occasion will be marked by a Red Nose Day bakesale,
and we encourage students to help this worthy cause by buying
cakes, wearing Red Noses or making donations. All the money
we raise will help to transform lives. That’s because Comic
Relief spends it to support long-term projects which help people
to help themselves across the UK and Africa.
The money spent in the UK goes towards helping victims of
domestic violence, young people who abuse substances or are
homeless, refugees and many other vulnerable people.
In Africa the money is used to help combat HIV and AIDS,
fight the discrimination towards women and girls and help
people affected by conflict and those living in urban slums.
