Circuit clerk from 1876 to 18S4; two terms as<br />
county superintendent <strong>of</strong> schools; ex-member<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Education and member <strong>of</strong> the 40th<br />
General Assembly <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Illinois</strong> Legislature. A<br />
real estate dealer and prominent citizen<br />
In <strong>Greenville</strong> in 1S91 and was connected<br />
with the firm <strong>of</strong> Northcott,<br />
Fritz and Holies until 1897. when<br />
he opened an <strong>of</strong>fice by himself. He<br />
later formed a partnership with<br />
Judge Joseph Story, which continues<br />
to this day. Mr. Park is well learned<br />
in the law and was the tutor <strong>of</strong><br />
Alfred Adams, Joseph Streuber and<br />
C. E. Hoiles.<br />

and now a law student there.<br />

Adams were all, for short periods<br />
members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Greenville</strong> bar.<br />
Clarence E. Hoiles was admitted<br />
to the bar in 189 6 and soon became<br />
a member <strong>of</strong> the firm <strong>of</strong> Northcott,<br />
Fritz and Hoiles. He is a grandson<br />
<strong>of</strong> Charles Hoiles, who founded the<br />
banking house <strong>of</strong> Hoiles and Sons<br />
and belongs to one <strong>of</strong> the oldest and<br />
most prominent families in Bond Co.<br />
Mr. Hoiles was for several years a<br />
member <strong>of</strong> the law firm <strong>of</strong> Fritz and<br />
Hoiles and recently retired from the<br />

Who came to <strong>Greenville</strong> in 1857; in<br />
business 16 years, 13 j'cars in his<br />
brick building on the east side <strong>of</strong><br />
the square. Residence <strong>of</strong> T. P. Morey, East Main Avenue.
