Provides information on several medicinal herbs, including history,<br />

information. Clinical research has indicated that black cohosh can<br />
relieve symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, sweating, anxiety,<br />
and insomnia. Beneficial effects have been observed after four to twelve<br />
weeks of treatment. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headaches,<br />
and dizziness have been reported, but are not common. Clinical trials<br />
investigating the constituents, mechanisms of action, and efficacy of black<br />
cohosh are discussed.<br />
