at Cour <strong>de</strong> l’Hôtel <strong>de</strong> Beauvais (4th arrondissement), Place Sa<strong>in</strong>te-Marthe<br />

(10th arrondissement) and the La<br />

• GANESHA FESTIVAL<br />

2 September<br />

An extraord<strong>in</strong>ary procession of dancers, flutists and Nadaswaram<br />

players surround a float carry<strong>in</strong>g the Ganesha god with his elephant<br />

head. This is firstly a religious festival, but gives everyone someth<strong>in</strong>g<br />

out of the norm.<br />

It’s time for the party at La Courneuve. Light humour,<br />

The only two mills still stand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Montmartre, where<br />

Renoir pa<strong>in</strong>ted a certa<strong>in</strong> ‘Dance at Le Moul<strong>in</strong> <strong>de</strong> la<br />

Galette’, provi<strong>de</strong> a backdrop to this restaurant. Seated<br />

on one of two terraces filled with greenery you will feel<br />

like you’re a hundred miles away from the city!<br />
