Just to prove that the summer is not just about the South of France, ten
contemporary artists are creating a collective exhibition across six towns
in the Hauts-de-Seine département for a real festival of creativity just a
stone’s throw from Paris!

Within its spacious and light-fi lled interior, the Musée d’Art
Contemporain du Val-de-Marne holds two thousand works of art
and is devoted to French art from the 1950s onward. The museum
exhibitions are designed in line with its collection and deepen the
visitor’s experience of contemporary art.
• SITUATION(S)
30 June to 23 September
This collective exhibition draws together the work of ten artists,
which includes “evolving” and performance pieces which explore the
gap between individual and public spheres, identity in movement,
portrayal of self… On 30 June and 1 July, performances will accompany
the event launch, while the Heritage Days on 15 and 16 September
are guaranteed to offer new surprises.

21 to 30 June
This 12th annual festival of
contemporary circus arts offers
another free season of head-spinning
displays in the streets of Antony and
Châtenay-Malabry. First, that sly
collection of acrobats from Compagnie
XY will provide open air entertainment.
Then the young Catalan students of
the Ganapies group will erect human
pyramids. Also performing will be the
Compagnie Azeïn aerial duo, Jörg
Muller & Co. acrobats underwater in a
giant tube and the strange tightrope
walker, Señor StetS. Circus workshops,
drinks and concert events and a ball on
30 June are on the programme too.

• NOUS N’IRONS PAS À AVIGNON
4 to 29 July
Once upon a time in a hall from 1860 near the Gare de Vitry, at the
centre of the town… Gare au Théâtre began in 1996 and spawned
its own “counter-festival” combining theatre, dance, music and
entertainment for children. It is all about the good things in life and
improvisation, spills out into the courtyard, and includes a bar and
family dining organised around the four daily shows and other events
presented by around 15 companies.
