WHAT TO VISIT
• CHÂTEAU D’AUVERS
This stunning classical building built in the 17th century
for one of Marie de Médicis’ advisors invites you on an
interactive journey through time entitled “Back
to the time of the Impressionists”. And until 2
September, the “Between Earth and Sky” (Entre Ciel
et Terre) exhibition, at the Château and several other
locations, will be revealing how light, clouds, refl ections
and plant life constantly inspire contemporary artists.

• AUBERGE RAVOUX, VAN GOGH’S HOUSE
Van Gogh spent the last two months of his life here in 1890. He painted around seventy canvases in
the village and surrounding areas, which he would hang to dry right here in his bedroom. The Auberge
has been restored to its original state, where the spirit of the painter still lives on. The welcoming
environment, traditional cuisine and souvenirs from the artist’s café bring the place’s memories to life..

• AUVERS FESTIVAL
1 June to 6 July
It’s all about life, discovery and freedom. This classical
jewel will be hosting composer Pascal Zavaro, and
offering an exceptional programme around him and
his work. Highlights include: Fauré’s Requiem and
Handel’s Dixit Dominus performed by the Ensemble
vocal de Lausanne for the opening night on the 1
June; Corsican singing with the Chœur d’hommes de
Sartène on 9 June; the pianist Hélène Grimaud on 20
June; the violinist Sokolov on 23 June; closing night on
6 July with Brahms’ Requiem performed by the Maîtrise
de Paris and its Male Voice Choir.

Until 21 October, Transilien SNCF is
offering a direct round-trip every
Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday from
Paris Gare du Nord: leaving at 10:08
(arriving in Auvers at 10:43), returning
from Auvers at 18:06 (arriving in Paris
at 18:39). For all other days, take RER
line A to Cergy-Préfecture or RER line C
to Pontoise then bus no. 9507 or take
SNCF the train from Saint-Lazare station
to Pontoise, then change for Auvers.
