small sawmill on the little stream that runs through the village. There are numerous Infangers who own small stores. There are several Infangers buried in the church graveyard. Charles Infanger was the fourth oldest of sixteen children. As a young man he worked on the construction of the Axenstrasse- the road on the east side of Lake Lucerne. He was graduated from the Technicum in Winterthur, Switzerland as an architect. He married Catherine Imhoff about 1880 in New York. She had gone first to the United States and he had followed. He returned to Switzerland and immigrated to the United States as of February 19, 1882. He became a citizen of the United States and within five years opened his own architect's office. We do not know where his office was but by 1900 it was in East New York, a section of Brooklyn, N.Y. His office was in the Mechanics Bank building and was later moved to the Kiendl building at the corner of Atlantic and Pennsylvania Avenues.
