C. JAPONICUM 'ROTFUCHS' - We are happy to be able to offer this exciting Katsura tree with purple new growth. The foliage comes out in spring deep purple and by July changes to dark, purplish green. The tree is the same as C. japonicum as to size and fall color. Probably won't hold color long in the south. 1 gal. $ 35.00 C. MAGNIFICUM - This is perhaps the most beautiful tree in our garden. Our plant is a major feature year round. In winter the arching, tiny branches have a nice silhouette with bronze new growth. In fall the foliage is rich yellow with peachy highlights. It is smaller growing than C. japonicum. Very good for smaller gardens. 2 gal. $ 40.00 C. MAGNIFICUM 'PENDULA' - Has large dark green foliage during summer. In fall the color is golden yellowpink. The terminal stem grows upright and eventually becomes weeping. Our plant is 20 years old and is 25' tall and 15' across. It always receives attention when visitors see it. 2 gal. $ 35.00 CERCIS C. CHINENSIS 'DON EGOLF' - Brilliant pink flowers cover this plant from toe to head. Named for the great plant breeder, Don Egolf. 1 gal. $ 15.00 CHAENOMELES - This whole group is very underestimated as they flower for a long time in bright colors and grow on plants that are tough and easy growers. C. 'CAMEO' - Double peach flowers cover this flowering quince in early spring. Many people think the quinces are too wild colored. C. 'Cameo' has very soft colored flowers that can combine with other plants. 1 gal. $ 16.00 C. 'CHOJURAKU' - has beautiful peachy orange flowers in early spring. This moderate sized plant will make a lovely display in a spring garden. 1 gal. $ 16.00 C. SUPERBA 'CRIMSON & GOLD' - This brilliant red flowering quince is a bushy 2-3' shrub. This plant would be great for an informal espalier on a wall. We grow the similar C. 'Hollandia' as an espalier and always get great comments. 1 gal. $ 14.00 C. 'HIME' The interesting flowering quince is unusual in that it doesn't have any thorns. The plant will get 2-3 feet tall and wide. 'HOLLANDIA' - We have a few of this excellent flowering quince. We first saw this red flowering quince on Jane Platt's house many years ago. We got cuttings and they rooted then but it's been difficult to root since. The red flowers begin in late fall for us and continue into April. We grow our plant on our rough board fence in full sun. 1 gal. $ 22.00 C. 'IWAI-NISHIKI '- This small spreading quince will only get to 18" tall. The rich red flowers are double in the early spring. This plant would make an excellent wall plant or groundcover. 1 gal. $ 16.00 C. JAPONICA 'CONTORTA' - This contorted quince gets to 4' tall. Everything is contorted including stems, thorns, flowers and fruit. Flowers are white aging to pink. 1 gal. $ 1600 C. JAPONICA 'CONTORTA RED' - The plant looks just like C. japonica 'Contorta' but has pinky red flowers in early spring. 1 gal. $ 16.00 6 C. 'KAN TOYO' - A dwarf form of C. 'Toyo Nishiki' with the same pink, white and dark pink flowers. This fun plant makes a surprise each spring with its blooms changing color. Makes an excellent bonsai. 1 gal. $ 16.00 C. 'TOYO NISHIKI' - This upright grower will have pink, white and red- all on the same plant and at the same time. Try this interesting Japanese plant. 1 gal. $ 14.00 CHAMAECYPARIS C. 'BLUE SURPRISE' - is a rich blue needled conifer that gets to be a moderate sized shrub. The columnar plant is 5'-6' after 6 years. Needs to have good drainage. 1 gal. $ 18.00 C. LAWSONIANA 'GREEN GLOBE' looks like it will stay small (maybe 2-3') after many years. These plants are growing 1-3" per year and make a rounded globe form. NOOTKATENSIS 'VAN DEN AKKER' - This false cypress is supposed to be even narrower than C. n. 'Green Arrow'. Haven't seen a mature plant but 'Green Arrow' is already a beautiful plant and C. n. 'Van den Akker' sounds wonderful. 1 gal. $ 18.00 C. OBTUSA 'JUNIPEROIDES' - Can be grown in a tiny rock garden, a container or a trough. The deep green foliage only grows 1/ 4 " per year. Seldom offered because these plants grow so slowly. 1 gal. $ 14.00 C. OBTUSA 'NANA TRUE'- This small conifer is perfect for the smallest garden. CHIONANTHUS VIRGINICUS - This small tree has dark green foliage that doesn't appear until late April-May. As the foliage comes out the plant is smothered with small white flowers which look like cut silk. Visitors see our 15 foot tree and are captivated. 1 gal. $ 16.00 CHOISYA C. 'AZTEC PEARL' - This has dark green, maple-like leaves year round. The plants get 4' tall and have white, citrus scented flowers during winter months. Hardy to perhaps 0° F. ALNIFOLIA 'RUBY SPICE' - This selection from Richard Jaynes (Mr. Kalmia) has even darker pink flowers than C. 'Pink Spire'. Fall color is a very pretty yellow. Flowers are wonderfully scented. 2 gal. $ 22.00 C. 'HUMMINGBIRD' - After 5 years our plant is 18" X 24" across. Heavy flowering in mid summer. Comptonia is a plant to 3' with narrow, wavy leaves. The plant has catkins and tiny red flowers in early spring. The sweetly scented foliage makes a great foil for flower arrangements during summer. Will grow in dry soil in full sun. 1 gal. $ 20.00 CORNUS - C. ALBA 'AUREA' - The red stems on this plant are wonderful during the winter to light up the garden. BAIHALO PP 8722). This red stemmed, shrubby dogwood is full and compact growing. ALBA 'SIBERIAN PEARLS' - A red stemmed shrubby dogwood is handsome during the winter. ALTERNIFOLIA 'ARGENTEA' - This small shrubby dogwood grows to 12' X 10 ' and has small white margined green leaves. The overall effect is of a white wedding cake. The foliage grows in tiers. ALTERNIFOLIA 'GOLDEN SHADOWS' - This new form of C. alternifolia has golden yellow margins rather than the cream variegation of C. alternifolia 'Argentea'. The layered foliage will form a beautiful large shrub or small tree. We presume that C. alternifolia 'Golden Shadows' will be larger than C. argentea (perhaps 20' tall. 1 gal. $ 48.00 C. CONTROVERSA 'VARIEGATA' - Who cares about flowers? The light green foliage has a broad, creamy edge. This plant grows in wonderful horizontal layers like clouds of green and white. The flowers are clusters of small white petals (no bracts). We had only seen small 5-6 foot plants until we saw Princess Sturdza's incredible 30 foot specimen. Try this excellent plant for something really special! Grows 18 inches per year as young plants. 1 gal. $ 50.00 5 gal. $120.00 C. KOUSA 'AKATSUKI' - is a sport of C.k 'Satomi' from Japan. The leaves have a green center with wide irregular margins of creamy white and pink.
