and for many of you who call us, Marj is the one you usually will reach first. People keep
asking her when she will retire and she usually responds with “what would I do any
differently.” Eric and Pierce went on a four-day float trip this June with a friend on the
John Day River in central Oregon. This was a great trip, the weather was perfect and the
company was even better. It was sleeping on the riverbank and fishing all day as you
moved down river to the next campsite. We covered a little over 50 miles during the trip.
We are especially excited about this year’s new plants; as usual we have added over 120
new items to this year’s catalog. There are too many for us to discuss here individually
however we are sure you will find many new treasures. We are offering a selection of
blueberries this year for the first time. You can purchase them individually or you can get
a package of any five for a special price. We are obtaining these from a local operation
known for supplying blueberries to countries all around the globe. They have become the
largest supplier of commercial blueberries in the United States over the last few years.
These vacciniums can be a great crossover for any garden, we use then in the landscape
as ornamentals and the fruit during the summer can be a wonderful bonus.
Every year we thank our current employees who we consider to be our friends as well as
staff. We have college kids who have worked for us come back and visit years later just
to say hi and catch up. We love to see how they are doing and are proud to have helped
them a little along the way. This year we have only two employees to thank. The first is
Lisa Sebright who helps in the office and the second is Meredith Conley who recently
graduated from the University of Oregon. Both are a joy to work with and they help the
work days go by little faster.
