TERMS
This catalog applies to Fall 2008, and Spring 2009, shipping:
PLEASE ORDER FROM THE CURRENT CATALOG ONLY. Customers will
automatically receive our new catalog each fall. Since certain varieties are often in limited supply,
customers find that by placing their order in the fall for fall or spring shipping we can better ensure
availability and choice of size. Please offer suggested substitutes, though we don't substitute unless
instructed.
PLANTS ARE TAGGED AS ORDERS ARE RECEIVED, therefore earliest orders receive
first choice of plants..............First come, first served.
PAYMENT WITH ORDER PLEASE... WE NOW ACCEPT VISA OR MASTERCARD, and
do not charge the card until the time of the shipment.
We ship earth balls reduced to a minimum in a plastic bag. We do not practice bare root
shipping due to severe shock. We will substitute smaller sizes of your suggested substitutes if
necessary and refund balance.
Shipments are made when plants are dormant from October to March (primarily October 15 to
December 15 and February 15 to early May). We refuse to ship if we deem soft growth too advanced
for sustained crated containment and refund customer's money. We advise midwestern and eastern
customers who receive plants in Spring in dormant condition, and then unpack and hold plants in lighted
basement, garage, or cool greenhouse until danger of severe frost is past.
Shipping: We ask the customer to state choice of carrier, but be receptive to alternative
suggestions. Plants become the property of the customer upon delivery to the transportation company
and we cannot be responsible for loss, damage, or delay. Claims for damage in transit should be made
to the carrier (not the driver). Save all packing materials and contents. Please include street address,
telephone number, and any other pertinent information to aid in delivery.
REGARDING PACKING AND SHIPPING CHARGES:
In the effort to simplify the terms of shipping, 20% for shipments west of the Mississippi River -
or 30% east of the Mississippi River, which will include the packing and prepaid ground UPS or Parcel
Post. This cost (20% or 30% has been reviewed and turns out to be almost exactly the price we charged
in the past for packing and ground shipping). If you wish 2nd day air UPS, 3rd day select UPS, we
will charge 10% packing plus shipping at cost. Due to increased boxing and shipping costs, minimum
packing and shipping is $10.00. Re: 2nd Day UPS, We would like people to know that 2nd day
UPS should only be used when absolutely necessary. 3rd Day Select UPS is drastically less money and
only involves one more day which will not noticably affect the plants. Unless otherwise requested, we
send plants by Regular ground UPS which sometimes takes 10 days to the east coast. Therefore we
often recommend 3rd day UPS, a little more expensive, but a saving in transit time.
Plants are guaranteed true to name and are carefully selected quality plants. Our plants are
regularly inspected by the Oregon Agriculture Department. Since we cannot control planting or
growing conditions after shipment, we cannot be responsible for loss.
We can supply a wholesale catalog upon request to nurseries and landscapers.
