GERANIUM G. PHAEAUM 'LILY LOVELL' . This mourning widow geranium has dark rich purple flowers carried on 18" stems. This plant has a wonderful grace with the simplicity of the flowers and the airiness of the foliage. 1 gal. $ 10.00 GINKGO G. BILOBA 'AUTUMN GOLD' - One of the best named cultivars of ginkgo. Ginkgo 'Autumn Gold' is slow growing at first but speeds up after several years and forms a 30-40' tree with gorgeous yellow fall color. There are very few trees with more beautiful fall foliage. 2 gal. $ 30.00 G. BILOBA 'JADE BUTTERFLIES' - This ginkgo is bushy and full from the time it's a small plant. The normal Ginkgo biloba has a gawky look until it's fairly mature. Ginkgo 'Jade Butterflies' has the typical foliage turning brilliant yellow. We have finally found THE ginkgo for our garden. It's just where can we stuff another tree. 1 gal. $ 28.00 G. BILOBA 'SUMMER RAINBOW'- We found this plant a couple of years ago in a Portland area nursery. The dark green leaves have bright yellow stripes running through them. The leaves are small to medium sized for a ginkgo. We have had a G. biloba 'Variegata' and it reverts regularly but G. b. 'Summer Rainbow' doesn't seem to revert. Limited number available 1 gal. $ 65.00 GLADIOLUS 'BOONE' - We received this wonderful bulb from Allan Bush at Holbrook Farm Nursery years ago. The flowers of this glad are peach, green, orange and yellow. Sounds awful but this is a truly gorgeous 2' tall plant. We don't dig and it's been below 0° F. two different times. 1 gal. $ 12.00 GREVILLEA VICTORIAE comes to us from Australia and amazing to consider it is relatively hardy (5° F.) We enjoy the gray green linear leaves year round, but Grevillia 'Victoriae' especially the winter flowers. The flowers are just plain odd twisted coppery color. This is one of the great plants we got over the years from Western Hills Nursery, Occidental, CA. 1 gal. $ 16.00 GUNNERA CHILENSIS - WOW ! This giant always receives raves from gardeners. Our plants grow to 10 feet tall and 8-10 feet across each year. This Jurassic Park escapee won't eat you, but will be a great conversation piece. Has been hardy to minus 12° F. with heavy mulching. MACRA 'ALL GOLD' - The typical Japanese forest grass is a dark green plant 12" tall. We have had several variegated forms for years including the fabulous H. macra 'Aureola'. Now comes this beautiful all gold form. The plant still gets 12" tall, but has fully golden narrow grassy leaves. An excellent addition to the woodland garden. 1 gal. $ 12.00 H. MACRA 'AUREOLA' - The popular grass is one of our best woodland plants. The dark green leaves have broad yellow stripes going vertically. The overall effect is of a golden arching grass. These are alphabetized by name, with: "i" = intermedia, "j"= japonica, "m"=mollis, "v" = vernalis H. i. 'ALLGOLD' - Deep yellow flowers with red calyx. Many flowers on an upright shrub. 1 gal. $ 24.00 H. 'ANGELLY' - This fairly new witch hazel (to us is the absolutely the latest to bloom). Last year it stopped flowering just before our magnolias started. The heavy blooming plant has golden flowers even on young plants. It was discovered and named in 1985, by J.H.H. In January - February the yellow flowers appear. During spring-summer, the foliage is dark green. 'BONNYBROOK' - Now I am totally confused! We received this plant from Brian Milligan, Brian received his plant from the Bonnybrook Nursery, Bothell, WA. The golden yellow flowers look like a H. intermedia. Please check Chris Lane's book Witchazels and maybe you won't be confused. 1 gal. $ 28.00 H. i. 'BRANDIS' - Introduced in 1985 by Helmers Nursery and named for the house in which Heinrich Bruns lived. Flowers are golden yellow and purple at the base. No scent but lovely yellow flowers. 2 gal. $ 35.00 H. i. 'CARMINE RED' - This medium reddish pink hamamelis forms a large shrub 15-18' tall. The fall foliage is beautiful golden yellow. 1 gal. $ 24.00 0 H. v. 'CHRISTMAS CHEER' - Found by Jim Gerdermann in the Ozarks. Jim took the plant to his Urbana, IL garden where Joe McDaniel saw and named the plant H.v. 'Christmas Cheer' for its early bloom every winter. 1 gal. $ 24.00 H. i. 'DIANE' has glowing red flowers in January- February. The fragrant flowers are borne all over the stems. The fall color is among the finest of any witch hazel with its glowing red-purple leaves. 1 gal. $ 25.00 H. i. 'EARLY BRIGHT' - Wow! What fragrance! H. 'Early Bright' has small orange-yellow flowers in January. The flowers aren't very exciting but the fragrance is probably the best of any hamamelis we've sniffed. 1 gal. $ 24.00 H. i. 'FIRE CHARM' - Has soft red witch hazel flowers. This hamamelis looks somewhat like H. 'Ruby Glow' but has a round leaf and lighter colored flowers. H. i. 'GIMBORNS PERFUME' - Named at the Gimborn Arboretum, Doorn, Holland. May be from the same seed batch as H. 'Sunburst'. The twisted flowers are pale yellow and are strongly scented. 1 gal. $ 38.00 H. i. 'GLOWING EMBERS' was discovered by Wada at Hakoneya Nursery, Japan. The flowers are golden yellow at the tip of the flower and deep red at the base. The overall effect is orange-coppery in late winter. 1 gal. $ 30.00 H. i. 'JELENA' - Our big plant has bloomed off and on all summer for the last several years and just kept blooming most of the winter. The flowers are coppery-orange. This plant is so strongly weeping it doesn't form a shrub but more like a mound. Grow on a mound or over a rock wall so it can spill over. 'RED IMP' - Named by Peter Dummer and Roy Lancaster at Hilliers Nursery, England in 1996. This plant has red crimped and twisted flowers in midwinter. This is the first time we have offered H.v. 'Sandra' has purple new growth in spring and early summer. In the fall, the foliage turns glowing red and will have color for three weeks. 'SUNBURST' - Has the brightest yellow flowers of any hamamelis yet. The brilliant flowers are borne in heavy clusters. Like H. 'Primavera' but much brighter yellow flowers. H. 'WESTERSTEDE' - Named by Heinrich Bruns and named for the town where his nursery was located. Similar color to H. 'Arnold Promise' but much hardier and resistant to mildew. 2 gal. $ 45.00 H. j. 'ZUCCARINIANA' - Flowers are light yellow and have very twisted petals in February in our garden. 2 gal. $ 45.00 HEBE 'QUICKSILVER' - This arching grower grows to 12" tall and 18" wide. The tiny silver-gray foliage is pretty against the dark stems. 1 gal. $ 14.00 HEDYCHIUM 'TARA' - Probably the only ginger (the spice) that blooms early enough to actually flower in our garden. Many of the hedychium species we've tried will bloom for 2 minutes in November and will be puny at that. H. 'Tara' has beautiful light orange flowers in late August- September. The plants are upright with narrow leaves. This perennial can make a striking plant for the tropical look. 5 gal. $ 30.00 HELLEBORUS - H. FOETIDUS WESTER FLISK has the typical leaves of H. foetidus (dark green maple-like). The petioles attaching the leaf to the stem will be deep purple. The flowers are upright green trusses. HYBRIDUS (SEEDLINGS) - These plants are a hybrid group with mixed colors of pink, white, purple, yellow, etc. These easy growers are among the best perennials we can grow in out garden. We bought some seedlings from several different nurseries and all were poor colored singles. We found these plants that are white or soft pink and they have all bloomed, so we can assure you they will bloom as doubles. This is a new plant to us and came from Ernie and Marietta O'Byrne's breeding program.
