Plants, pricing and shipping ..... We really care about our plants, customers, and pricing and, therefore, we address these issues here: In general, 1 gallon plants are 6"-18", 2 gallon plants are 18"-24", and 3 gallon plants are 24"-36". Most of our plants are grafted or cutting grown from our own stock plants, so we know the correct variety. We also feel that it is better to have cultivars or known varieties than seedlings. The plants we list have been at the nursery for a least one season, and our catalog is based on plants in stock at press time. We list plants only when we have at least 10 of a variety and try to indicate when so few are available. From our garden and others we choose only the finest most adaptable plants. Since we are small and don't have a large staff, we can't handle having thousands of varieties of plants for sale. We put our plants through an evaluation process in our garden. So when you make a choice you know we have already grown that plant in our own garden and found it has more beautiful flowers, foliage, fruit, hardiness, etc. than other varieties we have tried. As to price, a difficult decision, we try to be fair so not just the wealthy can afford the plants (we are collectors, too). In many cases there are no other sources to compare cost, so difficulty in acquisition, propagation, container growing, as well as other nursery costs must come into play. Shipping times are between October and December and again February into early May while the plants are in dormant state. We are always watching the weather across the country to try to ship the orders so they arrive in good condition. We do not bare root plants, but do reduce the earth ball to lighten the ship weight while still keeping soil with the roots. Plants are tied into plastic bags, then tied into cardboard cartons, thus greatly limiting loss. We'll try to meet your shipping date request, but our schedules, weather, etc. may affect our ability to do this. In spring, please be patient as we get snowed under with orders so sometimes it takes until mid May to catch up with the orders. We reserve the plants ordered and charge credit cards when the plants are shipped, as we are able to reconcile plants, packing, and shipping charges. If we have not answered some of your questions, feel free to call. Re: Your want lists - Often there are plant varieties available in numbers too few to list here. We invite inquiries and try to advise where plants are available, if not here. -----------------TELEPHONE ----------------- -------------------------FAX-------------------------- 541-746-3922 541-744-7924 WE TRY TO BE AVAILABLE FOR PHONE CALLS 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PACIFIC TIME, (Remember there are three hours difference for some) ----------------WEB SITE--------------- www.gosslerfarms.com PLEASE BE PATIENT IF WE'RE OUTSIDE OR GONE AS WE CHECK OUR MESSAGES FREQUENTLY
