H. 'YELLOW-' This fine yellow hellebore has a beautiful deep red center. These plants come from NW Garden <strong>Nursery</strong> and are part of their excellent breeding program. 1 gal. $ 28.00 HEMEROCALLIS 'CORKY' - This hybrid daylily is not the daylily breeder's kind of flowers. We see so many daylilies that have huge gaudy overblown flowers (sorry, daylily collectors). H 'Corky' is opposite in that flowers are small (2") and very simple looking like a species. The stems are dark purple and at 18" will get the yellow flowers above the foliage. 1 gal. $ 12.00 HOSTA H. 'BLUE ANGEL' - This hosta has a fairly long, dusky blue leaf on a medium- large plant. 1 gal. $ 14.00 H. 'GREAT EXPECTATIONS' is a slow growing medium sized hosta with deep green margins and yellow irregular variegation at the center. This is an excellent hosta for any garden. 1 gal. $ 15.00 HYDRANGEA - Alphabetized by name with "m" = macrophylla, "p"= paniculata, "q"= quercifolia, "s" = serrata. H. ARBORESCENS 'ANNABELLE' - Huge, white mop headed flowers on a shrubby 4' foot suckering plant. Named by Joe McDaniel. 1 gal. $ 16.00 H. ASPERA 'MACROPHYLLA' has theultimate foliage. We have seen 3' plants in containers with consistent water with leaves over 1' long and 8" wide. The leaves are deep green and can have multiple colors like purple and reddish within the leaf. Each leaf is covered in fine hairs creating a fuzzy look to the leaves. The flowers are 8-10" across and are light lavender lace caps in late July. 2 gal. $ 25.00 H. ASPERA 'VILLOSA' - The narrowest leaf of any of the H. aspera group. Our plant is 10' tall and 8' wide after 25 years. The lavender flowers appear in late August into September. The plant will be much more open in the shade than in the sun. 1 gal. $ 24.00 H. s. 'BENI GAKU' has lacecap flowers that are pink, white and red- all on the same plant. Our largest plant is 3' tall and 2' wide. We grow our plant in semi-shade but we have also seen plants in full sun. 1 gal. $ 16.00 H. s. 'BLUE BILLOW' - This low growing H. serrata has lots of fertile flowers so the flower head has a soft hazy look. Our plants are 18" tall and 36" across. 1 gal. $ 16.00 H. s 'FUJI WATERFALL' - 'Fuji Waterfall' has light pink or blue showy double flowers in July. A small 3-4' shrub even in the smallest garden. 1 gal. $ 25.00 H. m ' LANARTH WHITE' - This white lacecap hydrangea has large sterile flowers surrounded by tiny fertile flowers. Our plant is upright, about 6' tall and 2' across. H. 'Lanarth White' seems to be very hardy here. 1 gal. $ 15.00 H. m 'LEMON WAVE' - Similar to H. 'Quadricolor', but grows for us whereas 'Quadricolor' slowly dies. Very nice foliage variegation with green, yellow and cream. 1 gal. $20.00 16 H. p 'LIMELIGHT' (ppaf) - Hybridized by the great Dutch nurseryman Pieter Zwijnenburg, Jr. This hydrangea paniculata has lime green flowers on a large shrub. This new plant is a real show stopper in the garden. H. 'Limelight' will also make a good cut flower. 1 gal. $ 28.00 H. p 'LITTLE LAMB' - (PPAF) This hybrid from the late Jelena De Belder (Hamamelis 'Jelena') has very small white florets that look like lamb's wool in the plant. Another very hardy hydrangea even for some of the coldest parts of the country. 1 gal. $ 20.00 H. s 'MIDORIBOSHI-TAMERI' - A small growing H. serrata with small flower clusters of pink or blue. The florets are double and dangle attractively from the stems. 1 gal. $ 16.00 H. PETIOLARIS 'MIRANDA' - This climbing hydrangea has small, dark green leaves that are widely margined with golden yellow. In the spring and early summer the plant has a golden glow to it. We have Guy & Jeannie Mitchum to thank for this fine vine for the shaded garden. 1 gal. $ 15.00 H. PETIOLARIS 'PLATT DWARF' - Please note the change of the name. We have been selling this plant as Schizophragma 'Platt's Dwarf'. We have talked to several knowledgeable experts and they say this fine plant is actually a climbing hydrangea. The original plant at Jane Platt's garden was a very small deciduous vine. 1 gal. $ 15.00 H. m 'PIA' - This mop headed hydrangea is under appreciated by many gardeners. This dwarf hydrangea gets up to two feet tall. The small rounded flowers can be pink, purple, or blue. Pia always makes a good impression when people see it in person. 1 gal. $ 16.00 H. QUERCIFOLIA 'ALICE' - Selected by Michael Dirr as a robust and strong grower. The panicles of white flowers can get to 12" long. As with all oakleaf hydrangeas the foliage is handsome spring to fall. 1 gal. $ 18.00 H. QUERCIFOLIA 'LITTLE HONEY' - This small growing oakleaf hydrangea will only get 2-3' tall. The great reason to grow H. q. 'Little Honey' is its handsome golden yellow leaves. It doesn't seem to make any difference as to shade or sun to keep the color of the golden leaves. The flowers are the typical white during summer. Try this new selection for the dash of golden foliage. 1 gal. $ 22.00 H. QUERCIFOLIA 'SNOWFLAKE' - Has arching flowers that are fully double white. Blooms for weeks in July-September then dries a dusty coppery brown. Plant gets 4'-5' tall and has beautiful purple, red, orange fall color.. 1 gal. $ 22.00 H. QUERCIFOLIA 'SNOW QUEEN' - The flowers are creamy-white up to 12" long. The flowers are the best of any H. quercifolia we've seen. Fall color is rich red-purple. If you don't have this plant, try it, you'll like it. 1 gal. $ 22.00 H. p 'QUICK FIRE' - (H. Bulk ppaf). This selection from plantsman Mark Bulk, Holland, has pink flowers a month before H. p. 'Pink Diamond'. We haven't had the plant bloom yet, but plants selected by Mark Bulk have been very good 1 gal. $ 18.00 H. s 'TIARA' - Our original plant came from Hedgerows <strong>Nursery</strong> in McMinnville, OR and is a small (2-3') grower. H. p 'WHITE DOME' - This H. arborescens selection has large domes of white fertile flowers and a few sterile florets. This new hydrangea will make a handsome shrub for your garden. 1 gal. $ 15.00 H. p 'WHITE MOTH' - The giant of this group. The white flowers have large white sterile florets which will make soccer ball sized heads. Our plant is 8-10' and is striking when it blooms in mid summer. 1 gal. $ 16.00 ILEX I. CRENATA 'DWARF PAGODA' - Teeny leaves are dark green on the 6 foot plant. Our plant is 6' tall after 40 years. Didn't sell until our stock plants got to be 1 foot or more. Plants we are selling are smaller 4 year old rooted cuttings. A great conversation piece. 1 gal. $ 12.00 I. CRENATA 'GEISHA' - We recently saw this holly and were taken by the tiny convex glossy leaves. This small grower will make an attractive shrub for the border. 1 gal. $ 12.00 I. 'LEMON GEM' - This low grower has lemon colored leaves all year round. Any leaves exposed to the sun are golden, but the shaded leaves are green creating a variegated effect. This hardy easy plant would make a nice color splash in the rock garden. 1 gal. $ 14.00 I. 'ROCK GARDEN' - This is the smallest of any hollies we grow. Large plants are 12"x12" and have typical holly leaves that are tiny and will cover the plant. As the name implies, I. 'Rock Garden' makes a perfect plant for the rock garden or a nice container plant. 1 gal. $ 12.00 I. 'SKY PENCIL' - Everyone seems to be looking for vertical plants that are evergreen, but not coniferous. Our original plants are 8 feet tall by 1 foot wide. 1 gal. $ 10.00 ILLICIUM I. ANISATUM - We originally saw this fine plant at Jane Platt's garden in Portland back in the '70's. We have grown I. anisatum in our garden since. Our plant is 6' tall and 4' across. Our mature plant has been to 0° F. at least twice with no damage. The flowers appear in spring and are small white star shaped flowers with the evergreen leaves as an attractive background. 1 gal. $ 16.00 ITEA I. ILLICIFOLIA - The holly leaf itea has crinkled evergreen leaves with soft spines. Flowers are one foot long and are greenish. The semi hardy plant for coastal California, Oregon and Washington makes a shrub but can be trained as a vine. 1 gal. $ 17.00 I. 'LITTLE HENRY' - (Itea virginiana 'Sprich' pp 10,988). This sweet spire has white flowers in summer that are sweetly scented. The fall color is a rich red-purple. This hardy shrub will add a nice dash of color in early summer and in October. 1 gal. $ 12.00 JUNIPERUS HORIZONTALIS 'PANCAKE' is a small low grower that will get to 2-3 inches tall and 18 inches across. Pefect for the rock garden, wall or large container. The foliage will cascade down and make a pretty display. 1 gal. $ 16.00 17 KALMIA K. 'BULLS EYE' - This mountain laurel has white flowers with a broad purple band around the inside of the flower. The foliage is bronze when new then changes to deep green for the rest of the year. 2 gal. $ 30.00 K. 'RASPBERRY GLOW' - This upright growing kalmia has deep burgundy buds opening to bright raspberry red in May. The foliage is deep green and doesn't get any spots in the winter as some other kalmias do. 2 gal. $ 30.00 K. 'SARAH' - Perhaps the closest to true pink inside and outside the petals of any of Dr. Jaynes' kalmias. The foliage is broad and dark green with pink buds and flowers. 1 gal. $ 16.00 K. 'TIDDLY WINKS' is one of the dwarf mountain laurels from the eastern U.S. The small leaves are 1/2 size of the regular kalmias. Flowers are white emerging from pink buds. Great plant for the small garden or rock garden. 1 gal. $ 20.00 KERRIA JAPONICA 'GOLDEN GUINEA' - Large (2"), single, golden flowers appear in late spring. This is a handsome shrub for the woodland garden. 1 gal. $ 17.00 KIRENGESHOMA PALMATA is an Asian perennial with maple looking leaves. This 2' plant won't look like much until August when the large green buds develop. The thickened petals of the flowers will create a shuttlecock shape. Kirengshoma must have shade and will form an arching plant for late summer color. This is a fine plant to grow under magnolias and other small trees. 1 gal. $ 14.00 KNIPHOFIA 'ROOPERI' - When we went to England in '99 we saw this stunner in multiple gardens in the southern counties. The flowers on this red hot poker are enormous and bloom in September. Why hasn't this great perennial been available before? The flowers are rich orange and yellow. Try this fine plant for your garden. 1 gal. $ 14.00 LAGERSTROEMIA 'ARAPAHO' is a large shrub or small tree with rich glossy purple-red foliage all summer. The pink flowers occur in August so we can even see them bloom in the northwest. This is a handsome plant for bright sunny areas. 2 gal. $ 24.00 LESPEDEZA L. THUNBERGII 'GIBRALTER' - We finally have this superb shrub (we use as a large perennial). We tried several different species and cultivars, but they would bloom for 2 days in December before freezing. L. 'Gibralter' covers itself with pea-shaped purple flowers by the thousands in August- September. 1 gal. $ 12.00 LESPEDIZA 'SUMMER BEAUTY' - This Dutch selection has deep purple pink flowers in August - September. This pea family member makes a lovely mound and can take (wants) hot south facing sun. 1 gal. $ 12.00 LEUCOTHOE L. DAVISAE - The sierra laurel is a consistently good plant for shade to full sun. L. davisae has dark green leathery evergreen leaves on a suckering shrub up to 18".
