with Father Bigelow. Born May 22, 1920, in Janesville, she was a daughter of Harry and<br />
Anna (Jubo) Zuzworsky. Mrs. Kopilchack was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of<br />
St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and was a member of the church sisterhood.<br />
Mrs. Kopilchack is survived <strong>by</strong> a son, John Kopilchack and his wife, Ethel, of<br />
Wadsworth, Ohio; three grandchildren, John Kopilchack of Lima, Ohio, Kathy Hickey of<br />
St. Louis, Mo., and Shari Lewis of Canfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.<br />
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death<br />
<strong>by</strong> her parents; her husband, Wasco "Jake" Kopilchack, on Jan. 6, 1992; brothers,<br />
George, Harry, Peter, John and James; and a sister, Edith Mowrer. (The Progress,<br />

KOPILCHACK, Helen<br />
NEW YORK - Helen Kopilchack, 84, of New York City, N.Y., died Wednesday, Nov.<br />
24, 2004, in New York, N.Y. Ms. Kopilchack was born in Smith Mills Dec. 13, 1920,<br />
and was a daughter of Feodor and Madeline Kopilchack. She was a graduate of Thomas<br />
Jefferson University School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 1946. Ms. Kopilchack worked<br />
on the staff of Jefferson Hospital and the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She<br />
also worked at several hospitals in New York City as a staff and private duty nurse. She<br />
is survived <strong>by</strong> a brother, Frank, of State College; a sister, Madeline, of New York. Also<br />
surviving are three nieces; three nephews; one great nephew; one great niece; and several<br />
cousins. Services will be held at Krtil Funeral Home in New York Monday from 2-4 p.m.<br />
Graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church Cemetery in<br />

SMITHMILL — Metro Kopilchack, 70, of Smithmill. Died Friday, March 19, at 3:35 p.<br />
m. in the Philipsburg State General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born<br />
Nov. 15, 1894, in Austria and came to the United States 54 years ago. He was a retired<br />
coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Kopilchack is<br />
survived <strong>by</strong> his widow, the former Katherine Stahursky, and these children: Wasco<br />
Kopilchack and Michael Kopilchack, both of Smithmill; Stanley Kopilchack, Royersford,<br />
Pa.; Walter Kopilchack, Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Joseph (Christine) Gallo, and Mrs. Ann<br />
Kost, both of Cleveland, Ohio. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 3<br />
greatgrandchildren. Requeim High Mass will be sung Monday at 10 a. m. in the St<br />
Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Smithmill with the Rev. FT. Peter Petrush<br />
officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the<br />
Buranovsky Funeral Home, Ramey from 7 to 10 o'clock tonight and on Sunday from 2 to<br />
5 p.<br />

Smithmill - Mrs. Madeline Kopilchack, 54, a resident of Smithmill, died at the<br />
Philipsburg State Hospital yesterday following a short illness. Mrs. Kopilchack, born in<br />
Austria June 27, 1899, is survived <strong>by</strong> her husband, Frank; two sons and two daughters,<br />
Helen of Philadelphia, Madeline at home, Frank Jr. of Hollidaysburg and John Wallace of
