KARLINCHAK, Anthony H.<br />
Anthony H. Karlinchak, 89, of McKeeport and formerly of Morann passed away at 6:40<br />
PM, Monday, January 16, at UPMC Hospital, McKeesport, PA. He was born on Jan. 31,<br />
1922 at Hastings, PA, a son of the late Stephen and Xenia (Czaplaczyk) Karlinchak. He<br />
was a 1941 graduate of the former Woodward Twp. High School and served in the U.S.<br />
Navy in WW II & the Korean war. Mr. Karlinchak retired in 1985 as a millwright from<br />
General Motors of McKeesport. He was a parishioner and an active church member,<br />
along with his wife, of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, McKeesport. Mr.<br />
Karlinchak was a member of the United Auto Workers of America; the 11th Ward Men's<br />
Club of McKeesport, and the V.F.W. and American Legion. On Oct. 6, 1956 in St.<br />
Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey he married Anna Kutzer Karlinchak who<br />
survives of McKeeport. Mr. Karlinchak is survived <strong>by</strong> two sons Stephen Mark<br />
Karlinchak of McKeesport and Joe Karlinchak of North Huntingdon. He is also survived<br />
<strong>by</strong> five sisters, Anne Sullivan of Maryland; Helen Jollon of Bethpage, NY; Irene Gibler<br />
of Fallbrook, CA; Stephanie Elynich of North Arlington, NJ; and Joan Lang, of Olney,<br />
MD; two brothers, George Karlinchak and his wife Arlene and Peter Karlinchak and his<br />
wife Jean all of Erie. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his<br />
parents, Mr. Karlinchak was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> two sisters, Mary Boris and Catherine<br />
Conlon and three brothers, Michael, John and Richard Karlinchak. Friends will be<br />
received on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday, Jan. 20 from 8:30 -<br />
9:30 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey. A Parastas service will be sung at<br />
7:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home with Fr. Balistreri. Great Panachida will be held<br />
on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey with Fr.<br />
Anthony Balistreri officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic<br />

MORANN - Mrs. Sonia Karlinchak, 70, of Morann died of a heart attack Saturday at 3<br />
p.m. in the Philipsburg State General Hospital. Born Feb. 28, 1894, in Austria, she came<br />
to this country 53 years ago. Mrs. Karlinchak was a member of the St. Mary's Greek<br />
Catholic Church at Ramey and the St. Mary's Altar Society. Surviving are the following<br />
children: Michael, Linden, N.J.; John, Arlington, Va.; Anthony, McKeesport; George and<br />
Peter, both of Erie; Richard, North Arlington, N.J.; Mrs. Charles (Mary) Boris, Scotch<br />
Plains, N.J.; Mrs. Francis (Kathryn) Conlon, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. William (Anne)<br />
Sullivan, East Orange, N.J.; Mrs. Julian (Helen) Jollon, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. James<br />
(Irene) Gibler, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; Mrs. Andrew (Stephanie) Elynich, North<br />
Arlington, N. J.; Mrs. Harlon (Joan) Lang, New York City; 35 grandchildren, six great -<br />
grandchildren and two brothers in Europe, Peter and George. She was preceded in death<br />
<strong>by</strong> her husband, Stephen, four years ago. Requiem High Mass will be sung Wednesday at<br />
9:30 a.m. from St. Mary's Greek Catholic Church with Father Jaroslav Fedyk officiating.
