FARMINGTON, Mich. - Martin L. Lenkevich, 79, of Farmington, Mich., and formerly
of Houtzdale, died Thursday, July 27, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Anna; a daughter,
Marian Schulte; a sister, Mrs. John (Ann) Dixon of Houtzdale; and a brother, Steve and
his wife, Doris; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Michael and Katie Lenkevich; a grandson, John Schulte; a brother, John; and a sister,
Mary Demchak. Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish,
Farmington, Mich. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the
Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament, 29575 Middlebelt, Road Farming Hills, Mich.
48034. The Henney-Sundquist Funeral Home, Farmington, Mich. was in charge of

Joseph C. Lidgett, Jr. Smithmill- Tipika will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10a.m. at St.
Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Smithmill for Joseph Clayton Lidgett Jr. 65, of
Smithmill who died Friday August 10, 2001 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Father Paul Bigelow will officiate. Interment will be at the church cemetery in Beulah.
Friends will be received today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral
Home Inc., Houtzdale. Panikhida will be celebrated on Monday at 7 30 pm at the funeral
home. Graveside Military services will be accorded by the Stephen Kandrach Veterans of
Foreign Wars Honor Guard. Born May 2, 1936 in Bigler, he was the son of the late
Joseph C. Lidgett Sr. and Vivian (Bumgarger) Lidgette who survives in Philipsburg. On
Sept 3, 1960 in Moshannon he married the former Marie Ann Lashinsky who survives at
home. He was employed as a technician for Corning-Asahi of State college until his
retirement. He was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Smithmill and
the Stephen Kandrach VFW Post #6321 Smithmill. He served as a past vice president of
the Moshannon Valley PTA and as a past member of the Tyrone Jaycee. He served with
the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He is survived by two daughters , Mrs.
Gregory (Denise) Sherkel and Susan Kasubick, both of Houtzdale and four
grandchildren, Joshua and Courtney Sherkel and Nathan and Justin Kasubick, all of
Houtzdale. Also surviving are four brothers, Ronald N. of Bellefonte, Billy R. of
Moshannon, Terrance S. of Snow Shoe and Larry L. of Coburn; three sisters Jeannie
Lidgett of Philipsburg, Penny L. Smades of Devon and Cherry S. Coble of
Punxsutawney; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
