Ronald Lekawa, Latrobe. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kozieki<br />
was an Army veteran of World War II. Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 8, at<br />
Holy Family Catholic Church, Colver, <strong>by</strong> the Rev. James Coveney. Interment followed in<br />
Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. Arrangements were in charge of the Matevish and<br />
Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.(The Journal, Nanty Glo, PA, Aug. 13, 1997).<br />
KOZY, Emil<br />
Emil Kozy. January 15, 1996. Emil Kozy, 75, Taylor, died Monday afternoon in<br />
Community Medical Center's emergency room after being stricken at home with an<br />
apparent heart attack. His widow is the former Julie Warholak. They were married for 48<br />
years. Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Katherine Luciw Kozy, he was a<br />
1938 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of<br />
World War II and served as a staff sergeant with the 397th Base headquarters and Air<br />
Base Squadron in the Aleutian Islands and Asiatic/Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was<br />
an inspector for the Trane Co., Dunmore before retirement and was also a retired rural<br />
route postal deliveryman. A lifelong member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox<br />
Church, West Scranton, he was also a member of the American Ukrainian Veterans<br />
Association of Lackawanna County and was a past secretary and director for the<br />
association. Also surviving are two sons, Emil Jr., Taylor, and Robert, Moosic; a<br />
daughter, Carol Albright, Salem, Ore; a sister, Alice Stack, Tunkhannock; a brother,<br />
William, New York, N.Y.; a grandson; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death <strong>by</strong><br />
a sister, Mary Hunchar.The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Edward J.<br />
Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Ave., with Divine Liturgy at 9 in St. Michael's<br />
Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Main Avenue at Howell Street, to be celebrated <strong>by</strong> the Very<br />
Rev. Nestor Kowal, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to<br />
8 p.m. Parastas, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.<br />

April 13, 1997 Emil Kozy Jr., Taylor, died Sunday afternoon at Community Medical<br />
Center after being stricken ill at home. Born June 14, 1951, in Scranton, son of Julie<br />
Warholak Kozy, Taylor, and the late Emil Kozy Sr., he was 1969 graduate of Riverside<br />
High School. He was a lifelong member Of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church,<br />
Scranton; the American Ukrainian Veterans and St. George's Social Club, Taylor. He was<br />
employed <strong>by</strong> the McKinney Corp. as a machinist. Also surviving are a sister, Carol<br />
Albright, Salem, Ore.; a brother, Robert, Moosic; a nephew; aunts, uncles and cousins.<br />
The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home,<br />
254-268 Railroad Ave., with Divine Liturgy at 9 in St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox<br />
Church, to be celebrated <strong>by</strong> the Very Rev. Nestor Kowal, pastor. Interment, parish<br />
cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 5 to 8 P-m. Parastas, 8 p.m. Tuesday.
