KOPILCHAK, Walter<br />
White Lake Mich - former Smithmill resident Walter Kopilchack, 74, of White Lake,<br />
Mich., and formerly of Pontiac, Mich., died Thursday Nov. 14, 2001. Mr. Kopilchack<br />
retired in 1992 from G.M. Truck and Bus after 42 years. He was a material handler. He<br />
was a member of the UAW Local 594 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is<br />
survived <strong>by</strong> his wife Jane; daughters, Grace Mitchell of Holly, Mich., Diane Kopilchack<br />
of Farmington Hills, Mich., Mrs. George {Gay} Hoffner of Sterling Heights, Mich., and<br />
Mrs. Johnnie (Tammy) Shaw of White Lake, Mich; grandchildren Christina, Matthew,<br />
Jazzma and Michael; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael of Smithmill; and two<br />
sisters, Mrs. Joe (Christine) Gallo of Ohio and Anne Kost of Ohio. Mr. Kopilchack was<br />
preceded in death <strong>by</strong> two brothers, Stanley and Jake. Services were held at the Huntoon<br />
Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Pastor Kenneth Bracken officiating. Interment is in Oakland<br />
Hills Memorial Garden in Novi, Mich. (The Progress, Clearfield, PA, December 19,<br />

Alex Koplylec, 84, Dies; Was a Former Dairy Farmer.<br />
East Haven - Alex Kopylec, husband of Eva Garbinski Kopylec of Half Mile Road, died<br />
Friday at his home. He was 84. Born March 18, 1886 in Galicia, Austria, he was the son<br />
of the late Michael and Mary Chromra Kopylec. He was a self-employed dairy farmer<br />
until his retirement several years ago. Besides his wife, he leaves five sons, Andrew<br />
Kopylec of New Haven; John Kopylec of Guilford; Joseph, Michael and Stephen<br />
Kopylec, all of Northford; four daughters, Mrs. George Gould, Mrs. John Della-Valle and<br />
Mrs. Edwin Wayne, all of North Haven, and Mrs. Justin Williams of Wallingford; three<br />
brothers, Michael Kopylec of Hamilton, Ontario, Wasil Kopylec of Alberta, Canada and<br />
Paul Kopylec of Poland; 29 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The funeral will be<br />
held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave.,<br />
North Haven to St. Therese's Church, North Haven for a requiem mass at 10. Burial will<br />
be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. (New Haven Journal-Courier, Saturday,<br />
